     Description

Romantic Irish self-catering cottage with a lovely private garden

Granary Cottage is a lovingly converted former corn store with natural stone walls and beamed
ceilings, which was originally built in 1899. Nestled in a beautiful private garden, this
romantic self-catering cottage has a canopied bed and many charming traditional features.
It is a perfect base for a holiday at ten minutes drive from New Ross, gateway to Ireland's South
East, which includes counties Wexford, Waterford and Kilkenny.

Approached from the parking area by a charming flagstone pathway through a pretty fragrant
garden, the front door opens to an attractive high-ceilinged hallway with antique furniture.

A vintage door with small glass panes leads into the fully-equipped kitchen which has an electric
hob and oven (as well as an attractive traditional Aga-style range which can sometimes be used in
the winter), microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, iron, ironing board, coffee-maker, CD/radio.
There is also a washing machine and a tumble dryer.

The dining table seats five, and the adjoining lounge area has a couch and two easy chairs and an
antique writing desk The lounge has a new large flat screen satellite TV with Irish and English
channels and lots more, a DVD player and complimentary wireless broadband internet access.

There is a single bedroom on the ground floor, alongside which is a bathroom with a shower
enclosure and toilet.

The spacious master bedroom on the first floor has a beamed ceiling and an impressive 5 ft
canopied bed and the large bedroom extends to a delightful lounge area, complete with antique
furniture, easy chairs and a wood burning stove. A large window has wonderful views of the
Barrow Valley with its rolling countryside and patchwork of fields, trees and distant hills. A
new addition to the master bedroom is a beautiful en-suite bathroom with bath, shower and toilet.

The second floor has a delightful attic bedroom, much-loved by children. It has two single beds
separated by curtains and decorated with pretty stencils. There is a separate toilet on this
level.

A cot and high chair are available on request at no extra cost.

The cottage is located in a large private well-stocked garden with flagstone paths leading to
both the patio and the private parking area. Attractive patio furniture, sun parasol and the
barbeque will ensure you can relax and make the most of the beautiful private setting!

     Attractions

If you are searching for a gorgeous, friendly place to stay that provides you with everything
you need (even free Wi Fi) to explore Ireland, then take a look at our five unique cottages in
the Sunny South East of Ireland!

Located in picturesque County Wexford, we are 2 hours from Cork and Dublin and close to the
medieval cities of Waterford and Kilkenny, and and major attractions like Waterford Crystal, The
Rock of Cashel, and the Blarney Stone.

Rich in emigrant history, our area near New Ross is the ancestral home of former American
President John F Kennedy, a large statue of whom proudly stands on the quayside. Here the
Dunbrody Emigrant Ship provides a unique insight into the heritage of families who trace their
roots back to Ireland and nearby the Emigrant Eternal Flame sculpture reminds us of those who had
to leave Ireland for a better life abroad. New Ross also boasts the wonderful Ros Tapestry
where visitors can admire the many large hand-stitched panels depicting the early and Norman
history of the New Ross area and Hook Peninsula. Near us also is the National Heritage Park with
walks and trails depicting life in Ireland through the ages.

Our wonderful rich landscape has patchworks of fields, rolling hills and fertile river valleys
with a fabulous rugged coastline, unspoilt beautiful sandy beaches, pretty fishing villages and
medieval forts, castles and abbeys, all presided over by the stately Hook Lighthouse, the oldest
functioning lighthouse in Europe.

" The perfect place to spend our first year anniversary.

We can't believe we saw 2 abbeys, 3 castles, a fort

and an 800 year old lighthouse all in one day! "
