Discover paradise in Heavenly Hana, Maui, and surround yourself with the most breathtaking views
in all of Hana.

Ekena means Eden in Hawaiian. This tropical paradise is perched high on a hill on nine acres of
private property with 360 degree views of ocean, sky, coast and the lush, green hills of Hana,
Maui. Enjoy all the natural beauty that Hana has to offer from the comfort of a beautiful home
that is impeccably maintained.

The views are vast and ever-changing. You can watch whales in season, rain showers blowing by
leaving brilliant rainbows in their wake, and listen to the songs of rare birds that enjoy our
fruit trees. The grounds are a tropical delight of exotic flowers and delicious papaya, banana,
avocado, guava, and macadamia nut trees. We invite you to our beautiful paradise!

Ekena offers two spacious accommodations, Jasmine and Sea Breeze. These comfortable suites have
the flexibility of accommodating from one to six guests. To maintain the privacy and peacefulness
of Ekena, we rent to only one party at a time.

These beautiful and comfortable suites have everything you need for a delightful and refreshing
vacation. All rooms in this home take advantage of the awesome ocean and coastal views. The
spacious living rooms are surrounded by sliding glass doors that open onto private decks. There
are two bedrooms with king or twin beds and each has its own full bath. The kitchen is large and

We offer wi-fi Internet service and cable, barbecue grill, boogie-boards, beach towels, beach
chairs and fins. For rainy days we have puzzles, games and videos. We have a laundry room, and

blender, dishwasher, a full set of dishes, pots and pans, utensils, coffee maker, organic coffee,
tea pot, some condiments, and fresh filtered water on tap.

Hamoa Beach- About 5 minutes outside of Hana, heading towards Oheo Gulch (7 Pools). Take a left
on Haneoo Rd. or follow signs to Hamoa and Koki Beaches.

Hana Bay- In Hana town. Veer left on Uakea Rd. at the Police Station, and at the first
intersection, turn left down to the Bay. Great snorkeling off to the right, beyond the pier, out
near the lighthouse.

Koki Beach- Close to Hamoa Beach. This is a lovely white sand beach but be careful! There is a
strong current that can get even strong swimmers in trouble, especially in the winter months.

Waianapanapa- Head towards Hana and watch for a sign on your right. The road to the beach is on
your left. This a beautiful black sand beach with lovely hiking trails around it. The ocean has
strong current though. Watch for turtles off the cliffs.

Red Sands Beach- Follow Uakea Rd. towards Hana, past the Ballpark, until it dead ends at the
Hotel Hana Maui’s Sea Ranch Cottages. Park along the road and head towards the ocean. The trail
is rough and slippery, and the ocean can be rough. Do NOT take the trail that goes through the
little cemetery and then climbs up a hill. The correct trail hugs the coast line. Just before you
get to the cemetery, you will come to a large Ironwood tree. Look to your right and you will see
a trail leading down towards the ocean. Follow this trail around the rock headland and you will
see a small bay. This is a great snorkel spot. There are no “nude” beaches in Hawaii, but some
people treat this one as such. The trail is very slippery so please use caution. Do not attempt
this trail unless you are very sure-footed and are wearing good shoes. People have been HURT on
this trail!

Oheo Gulch (7 Pools) - Part of Haleakala National Park. This area is about 45 minutes from Ekena.
Head out through Hana and look for the National Park signs. This Park has great swimming and
hiking. Take a picnic and plan to spend some time exploring. Don’t miss the bamboo forest on the
way up to Waimoku Falls. The earlier in the morning that you can get there, the fewer people you
will have to share the place with. It gets pretty crowded out there in the middle of the day.

DO NOT explore our streams in wet weather. There is a real possibility of flash floods.

Kahanu Gardens- A fascinating botanical garden, the State’s largest Heiau (very impressive),
and a spectacular coastline. NOT to be confused with a Hana Botanical Gardens on the same road
(don’t bother with this one). Kahanu is beyond it, (on Ulaino Rd.). Call 248-8912 for hours and
days of operation as schedule changes.

KAYAK/SNORKEL TRIP- A super trip in and around Hana Bay and the lighthouse. Call for more
details. 248-7711

CAVE EXPLORATION- Explore the mysterious interior of a lava tube. An informative and fascinating
tour. Fun any time, but an especially good rainy day activity. Call 248-7308

Hana Ranch Stables. Booked thru the Hotel Travaasa at 248-8211.
MUSEUM - Hana Cultural Museum on Uakea Rd. near the entrance to Hana Bay.

HANA COAST GALLERY- Enjoy the work of local artists and craftsmen. The Gallery at the Hotel Hana
Maui. 248-8636. Be sure to ask to see Gaylord’s magnificent Koa jewelry box!

NAHIKU TI GALLERY- Great gift shop featuring local artists. 10-5, daily. 5 minutes back on the
Hana Hwy. towards Kahului.

I LOVE HANA GALLERY- Beautiful one-of-a-kind jewelry, hand painted fabrics, great gift items.
Hana Town Center near the Ranch Restaurant and Post Office.

PAMPERING– We are blessed with wonderful massage therapists in Hana. We can personally recommend
the following;
Jan @ 269-1142
Luana Spa- Wonderful spa treatments and massage above Hana Bay. 248-8855.

Travaasa Hotel (formerly the Hotel Hana Maui): Breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Expensive,
but lovely surroundings. Call for reservations at 248-8211. The Paniolo Lounge offers a bar
menu for a lighter and less expensive dining option. The bar also offers good Hawaiian music some
nights. Call the Hotel for more information.

Hana Ranch Restaurant: 248-8255 Open for lunch from 11-4 daily, and for dinner from 4-8:30 every

Hana Fresh Farm Stand- Just before Hana town is a great healthy food alternative. Open for
lunch, coffee drinks, smoothies, and fresh produce. M-F 9am-2pm.

Troy’s delicious plate lunch- Sat. only in Hana town, just past the gas station.

Da Fish Shack- Great addition to Hana! Several delicious fresh fish entrees daily and a good
burger and fries as well. A blue food truck, just past the Hana gas station.

Hana Ranch Food Truck- New in town and really good Maui Beef burgers, fish sandwich (when fresh
fish is available), and their homemade vegie burgers. Fresh salad on the side. Just past Hana
town on the way to Hamoa Beach on the right side of road.

Thai Food- Ae’s Thai food truck is in the parking lot just after you pass the Congregational
Church in Hana town, on your left. Great Thai food! Days vary, so watch for her sign. If the Hana
Popsicle wagon is set-up across the street, try the yummiest, healthiest popsicles you have ever

Hana Farms Banana Bread Stand- A variety of delicious banana bread every day. Coffee, beverages
and other treats, too.

Coconut Glenn’s Ice Cream stand- About 20 minutes back towards Kahului is the most delicious,
non-dairy coconut based ice cream you have ever tasted. Several flavors and all are heaven!
