St. John is noted for being green and serene - this is no truer than
at Tranquility, which is the perfect place to enjoy the serenity of
the island in a private hideaway offering all the amenities and
tropical beauty of island life with its spectacular sunsets and
expansive views of the night sky from the verandah and surrounding decks.

Tranquility is away from it all, nestled in the trees on a hillside
above Fish Bay on the one side and the luxuriously secluded Reef Bay
on the other. The National Park’s virgin forests and beaches are close
by. It is a private and romantic little villa with high ceilings and
1,000 + sq. ft of living space which includes wrap around decks for
sunning, sunset viewing over the water in Fish Bay and stargazing.

While the house is surrounded by big shade trees to the back and
sides, offering complete privacy - there are no other houses in sight
- the front view of the Bay affords a clear vista of the water and a
full panorama of the incredible night sky. Fall asleep to the gentle
sounds of the virgin forest and wake to the soft sounds of birds singing.

Fish Bay is a quiet residential area on the south shore with a mix of
residences and vacation villas only 10 minutes from Cruz Bay, making
it very convenient for trips to the beach or dinner in town.



Tranquility is an oasis of natural beauty year round. The large master
suite is equipped with air conditioning but the natural cooling
provided by the canopy of native shade trees and the glorious trade
winds wafting through the airy and spacious little home make it
totally optional. Tranquility is eco friendly, designed to take full
advantage of the gentle trade winds, solar panels heat the water and a
short nature walk along a garden path to the large (15 x 30’) pool
carries you through an herb garden. Guests are welcome to pick fresh
basil and herbs for their salads.

Tranquility’s builder was a fine craftsman, which is reflected in the
beautiful floors inlaid from a gorgeous selection of South American
hardwoods and other distinctive touches of a true artisan. Tranquility
has been decorated by the owner, a local artist of international
renown, whose artwork enhances the easy charm and comfort of this
well-appointed vacation villa. The artist's husband has landscaped
many of the finest properties on the island including nearby
Guavaberry Farms, which is a veritable Garden of Eden.

Situated all by itself on a little knoll in Fish Bay overlooking the
Bay, its recently refurnished interior reflects the best of Caribbean
simplicity in taste and design, with a full kitchen, lovely dining
area, cozy den, bedroom suite and a large bathroom. There is a washer
and dryer available for guests use along with beach chairs and beach
towels. There is a nice selection of table linens and a full
complement of dishes and pans for basic and gourmet needs. All rooms
are equipped with fans and the master suite has optional air
conditioning. Tranquility is open, airy and breezy. There is a covered
carport to keep your rental vehicle cool and comfortable. The back
deck is well shaded and offers late afternoon comfort when the sun is



A short footpath through the native, tropical forest leads you to the
big 15’ by 30' swimming pool, which you will have all to yourself and
are welcome to use any time of the day. Another short walk takes you
down a path to the breathtaking Reef Bay within the National Park.
Reef Bay has a luxurious, long beach and is a shell seeker’s dream.
Off the beaten path and with no roads directly to the beach, it is
possible to have the famous National Park beach all to your self!
There are other short hikes to Cocoloba beach, Ditleff Point and other
vistas within the National Park. Cruz Bay with its' fine dining and
shopping is only 10 minutes away - the road is paved all the way from
"town" to Tranquility. Stargazing from the verandah is truly
spectacular and awesome. A guest comments, "We very much appreciated
coming "home" in the evening and relaxing on the balcony to the sounds
of nature; we also ate breakfast there everyday....we have loved our
hideaway holiday. From each hazy dawn to every sleepy diamond starred
night ...Tranquility describes it perfectly."



Rates: Winter - Dec. 15 to April 15 - $300 - 400 per night for 2 - 3 persons Summer - April 15 to Dec. 15 - $225 - 275 per night for 2 - 3 persons All rates are plus 8% Hotel Tax. Rates are based on availability, length of stay and number of guests. Rates are subject to change until confirmed. Honeymoon specials are offered; as are slow weeks in the summer - please ask about these specials. A 50% deposit is required for confirmation - in the event of cancellation it is non-refundable unless the space is re-booked.
