We are blessed with great sea views and south facing with mountain
views to the rear. I can say enough about the area but you and your
family would enjoy the life style it offers. Alanya is the pearl of
the Turkish Riviera with approx. 125'000 inhabitants. It is located on
the foot of the Taurus Mountains, which supplies the city with fresh
drinking water as well as protects it from extreme weather conditions.
The sea here is clean and not very salty. Alanya has two long beaches:
the famous Cleopatra beach in the West and the Keykubat beach in the
East of the town. The coast was already a travel destination 2000
years ago. It was here where Antonius and Cleopatra had their big love
story–portrayed by Shakespeare and in Hollywood - and that’s the
reason why one beach is called after the ancient Egyptian queen.
The jutting out characteristic is the castle mountain of Alanya with
its historical remains. On its foot on the West side there is the
harbor with its many fishing boats, tour yachts and landing-stage for
four ocean streamers. Three times a week a motor-torpedo boat from
The main street of Alanya was called after the founder of Turkey:
Kemal Atatürk. Separated in the middle by huge palm trees and
flowers, you will find on both sides of this avenue restaurants,
shops, boutiques, change offices and the aqua park, which opened its
doors several years ago.
The beach promenade with its fountains and all kind of small plants
invites for a walk along the Mediterranean coast.
