Tastefully restored, traditional stone farmhouse with big,
comfortable rooms on two floors. The huge kitchen dining room and
the big living room have beamed ceilings and fireplaces and masses
of light all day long. The living room French doors open onto a
huge stone flagged sun-drenched terrace. One double bedroom with
large en suite bathroom is on the ground floor. The other 5
bedrooms are upstairs. There is a large shady, grassed terrace,
overlooking the view beyond, from which there are steps down to the
swimming pool. The pool is totally private and peaceful. There are
3 hectares (7 acres) of grounds including a small wood in which
children love to play. The house and surrounding are very child
friendly. It is suitable for people who enjoy peace and privacy and
each others company.

Amenities

The house has all the basic amenities - cooker, fridge, deepfreeze,
dishwasher, washing machine, ironing equipment, vacuum cleaner and
so on. Oil fired hot water and central heating. The pool can be
heated via the boiler (at an extra cost). 4 WCs, 2 bathrooms with
baths and separate showers, basins and WCs, 1 bathroom with bath,
basin and WC. 3 bedrooms with double beds, 2 bedrooms with 2 single
beds, 1 bedroom with cot and bed. There are high chairs.

Attractions

The immediate setting of the house offers rural peace, forests,
walks and charming villages with good restaurants in the
surroundings. The Vendee is full of interesting historical sites:
abbeys, chateaux and so on. The Dongon (a Medieval tower) at Bazoges
en Pareds can be seen from the property. The coast is about an
hour's drive away and has interesting towns and many excellent
beaches. La Rochelle is an exceptionally beautiful place to visit.
Some wines are made in the area - there is a wine farm practically
within walking distance!

Rates

The basic rent is £850 per week. That encludes everything except heating the pool - which is at current fuel costs £13 per day. July and August are £950.
