Days Out on the Costa del Sol:

Benalmadena Marina

Great development featuring bars, restaurants, gift shops and boats
ogle at. Plenty of entertainment for the kids too, especially during
the summer months.


Traditional hillside "white pueblo" village, inland between Estepona
and Duquesa. Can be difficult with pushchairs or less able walkers as
there are lots of steps and the streets are quite steep. Traditional
Spanish bars and restaurants and stunning views from the ruins.


Nice Spanish town with good shopping and bustling marina. Long
promenade and clean beaches. Many bars, restaurants, water sports and
excursions, including dolphin spotting trips.


A “must do once” visit! Take a trip up the Rock, either with a guide
from the border or on the cable car to visit the infamous Gibraltar
apes, siege tunnels and St Michaels cave. Main Street is the main
shopping area with recognisable UK High Street names, as well as duty
free electronics, alcohol and cigarette shops. Gibraltar is not in
EU so duty free allowances apply and are verified by Spanish customs
on the way back into Spain. Shops here take euros or sterling but try
and use sterling if you can to avoid bad exchange rates. Park in La
Linea and walk across the border in order to avoid long traffic


Visit the very quaint and traditional Marbella old town for a
array of independent shops, bars and restaurants, or walk along the
Paseo Maritimo where Spanish families frequently spend their Sunday

Mijas Pueblo

Typical and traditional white washed village in the mountains behind
Fuengirola. Fantastic views over the coast, gift shops and

Puerto Banus

Playground of the rich and famous, complete with huge yachts and cars
to die for. Many restaurants and gift shops complement all the
designer names that you can find here. Prices vary hugely so have a
good look round before settling on your favourite place to dine.


Moorish town approximately one and half hours drive from the Coast.
Renowned for its 19th century bridge that spans the gorge and one of
the oldest bullrings in Spain. Alternatively, take the scenic train
from Algeciras.

Sierra Nevada

The snowy slopes of the Sierra Nevada are only two and a half hours
from the Coast. Please ask us if you need more info.


Visit the marina where you can wine and dine while gazing at the
amazing yachts, or watch the local polo team practicing or playing in
a match at one of the nearby polo fields.
