Superb quality holiday accommodation in Perthshire, the heart of
Scotland.

A unique self-catering holiday apartments in a converted 19th century
chapel, set in the glorious countryside of Strathearn in the heart of
rural Perthshire, 9 miles west of Perth, and only 5 miles from
Auchterarder and the famous Gleneagles Hotel and its golf courses.
Our holiday homes enjoy a superb central Scotland location just an
hour's drive from Edinburgh and Glasgow airports and from St Andrews,
Scotland's 'Home of Golf'.Featuring the only kitchen we know with a
stained glass window. Superbly comfortable self-catering
accommodation in a unique setting in beautiful parkland, close to the
conservation village of Dunning. Our central Perthshire location
makes us popular with visitors. No matter which direction you choose,
you will find variety, magnificent scenery and many things to see and
do. With everything to offer from a ceilidh to a classical concert,
gardens to grand castles, golf courses, whisky distilleries,
restaurants and much, much more ... this is an ideal setting from
which to explore Scotland's glorious scenery, history and culture.



 

     Amenities 


The Chapel House is a superbly comfortable self catering holiday home
in a unique setting in rural Perthshire. In the original 19th century
building is the entrance hall and galley-style kitchen, with its
stained glass window. The dining room features original panelling and
tiling and has patio doors leading to a private sitting area and
enclosed garden. The sitting room, ground floor bedroom, upper floor
double bedroom and second bathroom are in the architect-designed
modern extension. The twin bedroom may be convered to a double 6" zip
and link bed, with an en suite bathroom with shower over the bath and
tiled floor, this an ideal ground floor room and easy for those with
limited mobility. Ground floor:
Kitchen - fully fitted and galley-style with a feature stained glass
window. The kitchen has fridge/freezer, electric cooker and hob,
dishwasher and washer/drier, and an ample supply of crockery, cutlery
and glassware and kitchen appliances.
Dining room - originally the corridor that attached the mansion house
to the chapel and members of the household would have walked this way
to services. The floor has some original tiling and is wood panelled
on one side, and has modern patio doors that open onto a small paved
area with seating and barbecue.
The Chapel House has a large enclosed garden with views to the south
and west.
Sitting room - a spacious and modern sitting room with colour
television with Freeview TV, hi-fi, radio, reading matter and board
games. There are a series of pictures of the 1860's mansion house and
the interior of the chapel throughout the house. There is a large
cupboard, useful for storing the cot and high chair as well as
bedding for the sofa bed which may be used from time to time.
Bedroom - twin (or king-sized double) beds and a large built in
wardrobe make this an ideal ground floor room. The en suite bathroom
has a shower over the bath and tiled floor.

First floor:
Bedroom - from a small hall, the staircase leads to an upper bedroom
with king size double bed. This is a zip and link bed and may be
converted to 2 single beds on request.
Bathroom - situated a few steps from the bedroom, the bathroom has a
tiled floor and a shower over the bath.
Guests are provided with 3 towels per person - bath, hand and face as
well as a supply of shower gel, herbal bath and hand wash.

Broadband Internet access is available in the Duncrub Holidays office
by arrangement.



 

     Attractions 


Situated in glorious Strathearn, around 9 miles west of Perth and a
10-minute walk to the local conservation village of Dunning (and a
good food pub). Edinburgh and Glasgow airports are about an hour's
drive. The area offers everything from wonderful gardens, castles,
whisky distilleries, great shopping for antiques, cashmeres and
Scottish specialities, entertainment from a ceilidh to a classical
concert, and a fine base for your family history research. A golfer's
paradise with a 9-Hole golf course at Dunning, an 18-hole course 2
miles, and the world acclaimed Gleneagles Golf Courses 7 miles, there
are 41 courses in Perthshire. Local attractions include Scone
Palace, Blair Castle, Falkland Palace, Stirling Castle, Innerpeffray
Library (the oldest lending library in Scotland), the Famous Grouse
Distillery, Tullibardine Distillery, Branklyn Garden, the Discover,
St Andrews and many, many more.



 

     Rates 



The Chapel House is available for short breaks or weekly lets. The price varies depending on the time of year - around £360 to £560 per week. There's a 10% discount on a second week booked and a late booking discount. INCLUDED IN YOUR RENTAL: · Electricity and gas central heating · Cots and high chairs - 2 of each available (Chapel House only) · Bed linen and towels (3 per person: bath, hand and face) · Cleaning materials, tea towels and a 'starter' supply of washing up liquid, dishwasher powder, hand soap & shower gel. Chapel House is a 10-minute walk from the conservation village of Dunning, with its 13th Century Norman Church tower and now home to a Pictish stone called the Dupplin Cross. It’s a friendly village with a Pub that serves good food, a little Bistro, two small shops, a Post Office, a 9-hole Golf Course, two tennis courts and a bowling green. There's an 18-hole golf course 2 miles away and a whole host of others to choose from, including the world-famous Gleneagles Hotel Courses 7 miles away - and after your day out, unwind with a game of badminton and table tennis in the knave of the chapel. We are an easy drive (around and hour) from Edinburgh and Glasgow. There's plenty to do and see in the area around at all times of year and we always provide an abundant supply of tourist information. The Tullibardine Distillery is at nearby Blackford and “The Famous Grouse Experience” at Glenturret near Crieff. Scone Place, Blair Castle, Glamis Castle, Falkland Palace are all within an easy drive, and if you taste is for golf, there are 41 courses in Perthshire alone! The House of Bruar at Blair Atholl is a favourite haunt of visitors at any time of year. There is good shopping, whether your taste is for antiques or cashmere's, modern design or the best of Scottish products. There's excellent eating out locally, ranging from the cheap and cheerful to the best of gastronomic cuisine. Perth has an excellent leisure pool, and is a 'City in Bloom' Gold award winner. There’s plenty to see and do, or just relax - the choice is yours!
