Choose 1-4 bedrooms in historic Hansen House Mansion or a private
apartment in the equally exquisite Aster House

The HANSEN HOUSE MANSION was designed in 1886 by prominent architect,
Harald M.Hansen for his own family, and it now a Historically
Significent Building, as it has all its original Victorian detail --
Giannini and Hilgart stained glass windows, Steuben glass light
fixtures, pocket doors, pocket shutters, parquet floors, decorative
fireplaces, carved wood trim, plaster ceiling medallions, etc.

Its 19th century furnishings and artwork reflect the home's original
charm, and its 21st century conveniences such as central air
conditioning, free secure WiFi and ethernets,free phone calls to USA
& Canada, a desk in every room, and our strict non-smoking policy all
contribute to our guests' comfort. This is a very special place to
stay, unlike anything else in Chicago.

On the first level is a livingroom, dining room which seats ten,
butler's pantry, half bath and full eat-in gourmand's kitchen with
dishwasher, double oven, etc.

We have four bedrooms, three with queen beds and one with two singles
to sleep eight. Choose just one or all, depending on the size of your
group. If you need extra beds, we have two extra cots we can
add in each of the two deluxe guestrooms to sllep up to ten guests.

Parlour Suite: The top floor contains a seating area with widescreen
LCD television and DVD player, extra ethernet connection, extra
coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave, sundeck with umbrella table,
bathroom with shower and two guest rooms.
The Lit Bateau Guestroom has two single beds with a large closet and
an antique hutch with a dropdown desk. The Art Nouveau Salon next
door boasts an ornate queen bed and armoire designed by Louis
Marjorelle, the Father of Art Nouveau Furniture, plus a writing desk
and two night tables.

Deluxe Rooms: The second floor's two guest rooms each contain a queen-
sized bed, extra en-suite carved marble sink, walk-in closet, and
private bath.

The Celestial Chamber is graced with a magnificent hand-carved
Victorian headboard and hand-painted canopy, a walk-in closet with
built-in dresser, a television enclosed in an antique casing, CD
player, and a large granite-topped desk. Its spacious bath has faux
marble floors and an extra large shower with Corian walls and seat.

The Architect's Quarters, offers a small sitting area with a down-
filled settee, an antique carved desk, the television and DVD player
enclosed in a fabulous antique armoire, Bose radio, a dressing room,
and a walk-in closet. It's quite luxurious with a stained glass
window, decorative fireplace, tall pocket-shuttered windows, and many
architectural details. Behind a pocket door the bathroom has the
original over-sized clawfoot bathtub with handheld shower on an in-
laid marble floor.

The ASTER HOUSE Apartments:
This 1891 Victorian house is large and luxurious, beautifully
decorated with fine 19th century American and European antiques and
reproductions yet loaded with 21st century amenities such as guest-
controlled air conditioning, cable television, high-speed Internet,
free secured Wifi and free local phone calls. There is a small back
yard, back porch with rockers,and large sundeck with a chaise,
umbrella table and grill.

The two main apartments share a connecting door, so they may be
booked separately or combined for a large group.

*Elizabeth's Place* has an antique-filled living room with cable
television and VCR player, a formal dining or conference room that
seats twelve, a book-filled study with stereo, bathroom with clawfoot
tub and shower, two phone extensions with answering machine, and an
eat-in kitchen with first-rate appliances, e.g. Sub Zero refrigerator
and Corian counters and sink and an en-suite complimentary front-load
washer and dryer. There is one bedroom with a queen bed, one with a
full and there's a deluxe full-size futon bed in the study to sleep
up to 6 guests.

*Alice's Annex* is a complete garden apartment. It has a living room,
book-filled study, stereo with in-wall speakers, kitchenette, sitting
area with cable television and VCR, dining nook, bathroom with tub
and shower, complimentary front-load washer and dryer, two phone
extensions with answering machine, and a private entrance. It offers
three beds as well -- a queen bed in the bedroom, a queen sleeper
sofa and a single bed in a sleeping nook off the living room to sleep
up to five guests.

The HANSEN HOUSE MANSION is in downtown Chicago's Lincoln Park, a
terrific (safe!!)area with fine shops, cafes, restaurants, theatres,
movies, museums, Second City, comedy clubs, Lincoln Park, the free
city zoo and botanical gardens, organic farmers' markets, the lake,
day spas, a full-sized gourmet grocery, and for any jetlag a 24-hour
pharmacy, a 24-hour health club with indoor pool, 24-hour restaurant
and Chicago's only 24-hour Starbucks -- all within 1/2 - 2 blocks!
Wrigley Field is 2 miles door-to-door by bus or an intersting walk.

And we're 1/2 -1 block from the subway/el,abundant taxicabs, and 7
buses to reach all the rest of the city's attractions. Lakeshore
Drive is one block east; the expressways are 1.5 miles west.

The ASTER HOUSE APTS is in the same great area with fine shops,
resale shops, cafes, bakeries, restaurants, sports bars, theatres,
movies, museums, music venues, art galleries, three Starbucks, a
playground and park out back, a late-night pharmacy, local ice cream
shops, a WiFi cafe if you forgot your PC, day spas, hair and nail
salons, the post office, the library, dry cleaners, DePaul
University, and for any jet-lag or late nights a 24-hour grocery and
a 24-hour restaurant --- all within 1/2 to 2 blocks!

It's 4 -8 blocks to the free city zoo and botanical gardens, two
farmers' markets, and the lake/Fullerton beach. Wrigley Field is a
delightful 10-block walk.

To get anywhere else, there are the nearby subway/el, taxicabs, and
several buses, also just 1/2to 2 blocks. Lakeshore Drive is one mile
east; the expressways are one mile west.
