Relatively few people outside of France are familiar with the area
that is situated within the triangle Grenoble (at 17.5 miles) -
Chambéry (27 m) - Voiron (17m). In this area you will find the Parc
Naturel Régional de Chartreuse. Of the villages which are situated
within the Parc, Saint Pierre de Chartreuse is probably the most
appealing A place where one can enjoy all seasons. Something that
was discovered several decades ago by the chansonnier Jacques Brel
who lived in the village for a number of years. No mass tourism in
Saint-Pierre. Ski-slopes and a ski-school that accommodates families
and not groups of ‘jet setters’. Visitors to the village are nature
lovers, anxious to undertake a large variety of activities (skiing,
hiking, parapente etc.). The boutiques and little restaurants in the
village are small and cozy - but within less then 40 minutes you can
be in the fantastic and luxureous stores of Grenoble. Of course,
from Saint Pierre you can easily reach the more mondaine ski resorts
of the French Alps. But we believe that -especially for families-
Saint Pierre is more attractive.

Thanks to friends in the region (one of them an architect with many
relations to the local craftsmen) our attention was drawn to Saint-
Pierre and after a first visit, in October, we were convinced
that Saint Pierre was 'our' village. Five months later we acquired
the villa 'La Diat', built in 1926 and in serious need for some
renovation. From June through November, the villa was
thoroughly renovated and turned into two very spacious and luxureous
apartments, each with its own entrance. New kitchens, new bathrooms,
double glazed windows, wall and floor insolation, a new electricy
network, a new heating system - we can’t think of anything (but the
character of the building on the outside) that was not changed. In
January and February the villa has been completely
Our philosophy (when it comes to the furnishing, as well as to the
size of the two appartments): the surrounding may spak for itselves
but in the evenings and on a day when you do not wish to go out, you
want to feel comfortable as well. Nothing more frustrating then
being packed in a small studio with a large family on a rainy day!
At 'La Diat' you will find space. No pets and no smoking. .

Location and surroundings
The villa is situated in a very quiet area on a road called
the Chemin du Grand Logis, mainly used by the inhabitants of
houses on the same road and by people discovering / hiking in the
surrounding mountain area. The front side of the house is towards
the south east and from the lounge (or the balcony) you have a
splendid view on the village of Saint Pierre de Chartreuse and its
surrounding mountains.The midget golf, the local swimming pool and
the village’s tennis court are all within walking distance of our
villa. In the center of the village you will find the parasailing
school as well as the ski lift which will take you to the top of the
surrounding summits. The skiing area is suited for all levels. By

Interior of the apartment for 8 people - Ground Floor and 1st Floor -
1,420 square foot.
The main entrance is on the ground floor, at the front side of the
villa. Another entrance is via the kitchen, on the first floor and
on the northern side of the villa, with direct access to your
parking place in the garden. On the ground floor you will find the
parents’ bedroom (double bed 5.3 ft x 6.7 ft) and the children’s
room with 4 properly sized single beds (2 bunk beds). Large
cupboards in both rooms. Toilet at the end of hallway. Bathroom with
large bath and separate shower. Double sinks. 'Technical' room for
strorage of skis. On the first floor you will find a very sizeable
TV/Lounge (with 82 cm LCD TV + Home Cinema System), a large dining
area and a separate kitchen, fully equipped (fridge, freezer,
washing machine, tumble dryer, multifunctional microwave, electric
oven, large glass ceramic hob, coffe machine, waterboiler, ironing
board, iron etc.). Via the kitchen door you have access to a small

The entrance of the apartment is situated at the rear side of the
villa. At the end of a small staircase you will find a 4 x 4 ft.
storage space for your skis or other belongings. A further small
staircase takes you to the hall/toilet area. Then you enter into the
lounge/dining area and the kitchen. With the exception of there not
being a door in the kitchen area (but a window), the third floor is
completely identical to the second floor (albeit that we have
provided for more chairs), including the sofa-bed. The 3rd floor
contains a very large parents’ bedroom (with a separate shower
facilty and sink), a bathroom with bath and separate shower plus
single sink, a separate toilet and two children’s bedrooms: one with
tow single beds, one with two bunk beds. Parking at the rear side of
the villa - small garden area.



Hiking,speleology,canyoning,mountain biking,fishing,hang gliding,
cross country ski routes,downhill ski slopes, conservated natural
areas. Public swimming pool at 300 meters.



Please find below an overview of the renting prices for our appartments in Saint Pierre. Arrivals are scheduled on Saturdays between 04.00 p.m. and 07.30 p.m. Departures also on Saturdays, prior to 10:00 a.m. Additional charges are as follows: for the use of electricity: Euro 0,15 per kWh. (Mandatory) renting of bedlinen and towels (2 per person, per stay):Euro 12. Replacement (during your stay) at Euro 12 per person. Cleaning charges (at the end of your stay):Euro 60 (8 persons appartment) and Euro 80 (10 persons appartment). Upon arrival a security deposit of Euro 500 -in cash- will be due per appartment. Under deduction of charges (and possible damages) the security deposit(s) will be reimbursed on the date of departure. Renting Prices are in Euros, per week, and are exclusive of cleaning costs, charges for bedlinen and towels and electricity charges. A full description of the renting charges can be found on the owners website. Renting prices vary from Euro 465 - Euro 830 per week for the 8 persons appartment. For the 10 persons appartment the prices vary from Euro 575 - Euro 1030. And should you wish to rent both appartments simultaneously, prices will range from Euro 940 - Euro 1680.
