     Description 


Lascours is an unspoilt medieval hamlet perched on a hill,surrounded
by vineyards,situated in the Gard region of Southern France,near the
Duchy of Uzes ,the Cevennes mountains & not far from the Roman town
of Nimes with its International airport & T.G.V. station & the
Camargue region with its wild horses & bulls & many sandy beaches
.
The property is a totally independent wing of the village chateau
with its own private entrance from the village square & marvellous
views of the surrounding countryside from the principal rooms,terrace
& garden. There are three double bedrooms,two bathrooms.[one en-
suite] a sitting room ,entrance hall, & kitchen ,dining room. A large
secluded terrace,private garden & swimming pool [ shared with the
owners when in residence ] & the use of 20,000 sq.metres of parkland.



 

     Amenities 


An entrance hall with front door to the village square.leads into
the kitchen/ dining room,which is fully equipped with cooker,
microwave,dishwasher washing machine & two fridges & has a circular
marble mosaic dining table. French windows open out on to the
terrace. The adjacent sitting room also has access to the terrace &
is furnished with antiques,an 18th century stone fireplace
comfortable arm chairs a satellite television,VCR DVD & stereo +
telephone.An enclosed spiral staircase leads to the first floor.

Bedroom 1 has a king sized double bed,fitted wardrobes & antique
furniture with views of the countryside,as does bedroom 2 with twin
beds & fitted wardrobes. There is a family bathroom with bath &
shower. Bedroom 3 with two large single beds fitted wardrobes antique
furniture & en-suite bathroom with bath & shower overlooks the quiet
village square.
Outside there is a good sized terrace,a garden room, a marble topped
dining table & chairs,garden furniture & barbeque Gated stone steps
lead down to a private landscaped garden which in turn leads to the
wall enclosed 12.5 x 7 metre swimming pool.
The property has full central heating,& two fireplaces..



 

     Attractions 


The village is close to the Gardon river with views to the foothills
of the Cevennes mountains.The next door village of Cruviers
Lascours,about one kilometre away has a post office,village shop
wine co-0perative,& tennis court. There is a small supermarket in the
village of Moussac about 5 km away, & large supermarkets in
Ales,Uzes & Nimes are within easy reach.Bread is delivered to the
chateau every day but Sunday.
There are two good golf courses in Nimes,& a nine hole course in
Uzes.canoeing is available on the Gardon river near Uzes & in the
Cevennes mountain area. There are good sandy beaches between Arles &
Montpellier about 45 minutes away.

20 mins. to UZES,a beautifull medieval town,the premier duchy of
France with many open air restaurants & bars,a music festival in July
& famous market every Saturday. Also home to the Haribo sweet museum
& factory.

30 mins to the Pont du Gard,the worlds largest intact Roman aqueduct
spanning the Gardon river.

30 mins. to Nimes famous for its Roman remains,Arena,& Maison
Carre,good shopping,restaurants, cinemas & festivals T.G.V rail link
& international airport.

45 mins to Arles,gateway to the Camargue,also many Roman remains &
beaches

60 mins. to Avignon, famous Palais de Papes, festivals & opera.
sophisticated shopping & v. good restaurants

60 mins to Orange famous Roman arena with wonderfull summer opera
season,near many vineyards,Chateauneuf de pape, Rasteau.& the cotes
d` rhone area for wine tasting trips.
