     Description

A beautiful restored provencal house dating from the 17th century
situated near the magnificent Provence towns of Uzes and Nimes. The
house is located in a quiet picturesque village with superb views
over the surrounding countryside, it's own private courtyards,
outdoor sitting area and swimming pool. It is tastefully furnished
and decorated and in perfect harmony with the ancient architecture
and traditions of this majestic part of France. All bedrooms are
spacious, two of the bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and one has
its own separate shower room. All bedrooms have large double beds.
Part of the attic has been converted into a fourth sleeping area
with a double bed. The restoration, by one of France's leading
architects, allows guests to enjoy the authenticity of an old house
but in a light-filled environment with all modern amenities. You
will find here a wonderful source of tranquillity and well-being.

     Amenities

All amenities are within rapid and easy reach of the house
(supermarkets, markets, pharmacies, grocers, bakers, doctors, etc.)
There is a guide in the house providing details on amenities and
activities in the region including emergency contact details.
There is a large choice of excellent restaurants in the area
allowing the visitor to indulge in the superb culinary delights for
which Provence is rightly famous. The animated market town of Uzes
is a gastronomic delight with some of the best restaurants in the
region. The house is within easy reach of all the local airports
(Montpellier, Marseilles, Nimes) as well as the TGV high speed train
link from Paris. There are a multitude of wine growers and producers
in the area and this noble activity remains one of the key sources
of income for many people in the region. It is simply a delight to
turn up and taste!

     Attractions

The surrounding area is one of the most beautiful in France and
there are many things to do. From trekking and rafting in the Ardeche
to browsing round art galleries, there is a multitude of choice.
A guide is available in the house for you to plan and make the most
of your trip. Of particular note is the weekly market in Uzes, which
is without doubt one of the best in Provence. This takes place every
Saturday morning in the historical town centre in Place des Herbes
and is always extremely busy. 10 km south-east of Uzes (towards
Avignon) is the famous Pont du Gard. This astounding example of
Roman antiquity and ingenuity is superbly preserved but heavily
visited, so try to go outside of typical tourist hours. The best
time to see it is at sunset when the two-thousand year old stones
gradually turn to a magnificent golden colour. The cities of
Avignon, Nimes and Arles are all well worth a visit. Avignon offers
all it’s Provencal charm and the historical past of the period when
the Popes were based here (the Palais des Papes is unmissable).
Arles and Nimes are more Roman orientated cities with their arenas
and amphitheatres. All of them have nice pedestrian streets with
craft shops to discover.
