     Description

Situated only 12 kilometres from the wonders of Siena, La Tenuta d
Corsano is a timeless Tuscan estate of rolling vineyards and silver-
leaved olive trees. The 17th Century farmhouse lies in the tiny,
friendly hamlet of Ville di Corsano, and consists of several lovingly-
restored apartments which are available for rent throughout the year.
The hosting family offers a warm welcome of an aperitif and a
traditional Tuscan meal, and are happy to assist with local knowledge
during your holiday.

This is a delightful spot, the traditional setting of the
accommodation set off by the soothing, rural surroundings. Here you
can relax by the pool or in the gardens, sipping a local wine or
sampling some of the local delicacies.

La Tenuta is a peaceful, stress-free country estate which produces the
grapes for famed wines as well as olive oil, fruit and vegetables. For
many guests the opportunity to relax by the pool, sit with a book
under the shade of a fruit tree, or stroll through the grounds is all
it takes to make a perfect vacation. The pretty hamlet of Ville Di
Corsano (population 200) hasn't been tainted by heavy industry and is
a friendly little place with a small supermarket, a post office, and a
renowned restaurant. Other attractions nearby include a castle, which
is also a Restaurant, an eleventh century Church "La Pieve" where one
can go on Sunday Mass at 11 am , and the Etruscan town of Murlo with
its renowned Etruscan Museum.

The largest of the apartments, le Carrozze, was recently used as a set
for Renzo Martinelli's 'Five Moons Plaza' starring Donald Sutherland,
Giancarlo Giannini, Greg Wise and F.Murray Abraham. The film crew
stayed for more than a fortnight. Donald Sutherland and Giancarlo
Giannini particularly enjoyed the meals, prepared by Liliana, a host
with exceptional cooking skills.
DESCRIPTION There are six apartments which have been carefully and
tastefully decorated and furnished with period pieces and antiques.
The traditional whitewashed walls offer a contrast to the vibrant,
warm colours of terracotta tiles and wooden fixtures, with a result
that is both airy and welcoming.
Each apartment is fully fitted and equipped, with excellent kitchen
facilities, modern bathrooms and spacious, comfortable sleeping
accommodation. Each of the apartments has its own delights; all have
remarkable views of the vineyards and Il Granaio offers beautiful
views of distant Siena.
All of the apartments share an amazing swimming pool, which offers
fantastic views across the vineyards and the beautiful Roman church.
On request, breakfast, lunches and dinners by the pool can be
organized for you, offering exceptional atmosphere. Closer to the
units is a common area with a barbecue. The services of a maid or a
cook must be arranged at the time of booking.

     Amenities

Welcome dinner and cooking classes.
Shopping and Dining: the closest restaurant and grocery store is in
Ville di Corsano, 800 meters away. Open Air Markets: Siena on
Wednesday mornings.
Sights to be seen: The nearby town of Murlo is well worth a visit for
its Etruscan ruins and small museum. Murlo itself affords breathtaking
views of the surrounding countryside especially at sunset.
A spectacular drive through Asciano will lead you into the heart of
the lunar landscape best known as the clay hills or 'crete senesi' and
on to the famous Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore, founded in 1313 by
three prestigious noble families of Siena: the Piccolomini, Tolomei
and the Patrizi. It is now home of Benedictine Monks, who observe a
(Note comma, not full stop after Monks)
rigorous vow of silence, inviting those who visit to pray and reflect.
