     Attractions

Le Camelie is located approximately 800m from the beautiful and
historic town centre of Lazise which is only a 15-20 minute walk from
the apartment.

The town of Lazise is situated on the South East shore of Lake Garda
between Bardolino and Pacengo.

Le Camelie is ideally situated for easy access to Lazise, Gardaland,
Movie World, Aqua Paradise Park, Zoo/Safari Park and all of the other
attractions on the East shore of the Lake. It is also approximately
equidistant between Venice and Milan, each approximately 60 miles East
and West respectively and can be easily reached by car or train (train
from Pescheria).

bLazise Townb
Lazise is a beautiful, historic walled town dating back to the 11th
Century. It has the most attractive and picturesque harbour and
promenade on Lake Garda featuring many lovely restaurants, shops, bars
and other attractions.

Lazise is an Ancient Walled Town on the Lake
Part of the appeal is the ancient city walls, giving the city that
uniquely Italian feel with their colourful frescoes and delicate
carved statues.

City Walls and Gate
Situated on the South-eastern shoreline of Lake Garda, Lazise has a
particularly distinctive ambience. The beautiful town square (piazza)
is reached by any one of three gates in the city walls. Historically
Lazise was an important trading centre, today old fishing boats moor
alongside millionaires' yachts in the picturesque harbour situated
just off the town square.

There is an incredible selection of restaurants, cafes and bars around
the main piazza as well as along the shoreline you can then explore
the smaller streets and lanes that criss-cross Lazise to enjoy the
many jewellers, art galleries, ice cafes, shoe shops, leather goods
shops and designer clothing that the town can offer.

Today Lazise is a tourist resort, but it also offers history and many
medieval splendours remain including the Dogana Veneta from where for
centuries the Republic of Venice controlled all commerce on Lake Garda
and the nearby Scaliger Castle which hosts concerts and even TV
extravaganzas during the summer months. Behind the harbour is the
small Romanesque church of San Nicolò, which features many frescoes
some dating from the 14th Century.

In terms of dining there is no shortage of choice with fish fresh from
the lake being an obvious specialty with extra-virgin olive oil and
local wines (Bardolino, Bianco di Custoza and Lugana) produced
nearby). Restaurants stay open well into the night to allow you to
appreciate the magical moonlit lakeside view following incredible sunsets.

There is also an outdoor market every Wednesday.

There are no nightclubs in Lazise itself but there are a number within
reasonable travelling distance, but Lazise is not for the clubbing
holidaymaker. It is more for the person or family who will enjoy the
unique atmosphere, scenery and lakeside magic that this particular
corner of Italy brings.

For history and opera lovers the romantic city of Verona is only a
short drive/bus ride away and as well as being the setting for Romeo
and Juliet, features opera performances in the Roman Arena throughout
the summer months.

Lake Garda usually enjoys beautiful sunny days and balmy warm nights
through the whole summer months.
Lake Garda is renowned for its mild climate. Average temperatures
range from 18°C in April and October to 29°C in August.

The season for Lake Garda is March to end of October, with many
attractions closing down eg Gardaland from November to March.
However the months of October, November and December can be very
pleasant and although 'quiet' days can be dry, sunny and ideal for
quiet relaxation. Evenings will be slightly chilly however, but the
apartment is fully centrally heated making for clear, crisp sunny days
and warm cosy nights indoors.

The months of January and February are available but the weather is
less predictable, but not necessarily inclement.
