     Description

AVAILABLE NOW! Our comfortable and charming 2 bedroom, 2 bath 60'
mobile home (please read on and look at the pictures before you let
this stop you!) is located on a natural waterway in a great 55 or
older park where the land is owned individually, but the amenities
such as clubhouse and warm 20 x 40 pool are shared. We’re about 10
minutes drive from Punta Gorda, FL. It’s just a few minutes by boat to
Shell Creek, the Peace river with its thousand or so miles of
waterways to explore and fish, Charlotte Harbor, and thence to the
Intercoastal waterway or Gulf thru Boca Grande Pass. Available year
around for long or short term rentals. January, February, and March 3
month rentals as low as $1600/mo with $1100/mo prorated for any
additional time you might decide to add on in Dec or April. Special
out-of-season rates and longer rentals. Please inquire by email or
phone.
This is a place where you really relax, perhaps even bring your pet
(please inquire). You can tie your boat up (or, depending on weight,
hang your boat on the davits) right in front of your place, see over
the river and the wild wetlands beyond all the way to the sunset with
no high rises in sight. Go for an early morning paddle in Daisy, the
old town canoe to witness the incredible variety of wild life,
especially bird life that thrive here and all over the Peace River
habitat. Have your morning coffee, or the sundowner and a BBQ on the
32’ dock right on the river, go canoeing (canoe provided), learn how
to play the ukulele (ukes provided), take a short walk or bike ride
(bikes there too) to swim in the warm community pool. Drive 5 minutes
to the Winn Dixie to shop, or 10 minutes into Punta Gorda do the
downtown, the wonderful waterfront park, or the many fine restaurants.
Fishermans’ Village is just another 5 minutes away.
The Camp has very comfortable accommodations for up to 4 guests plus a
hide-a-bed for drop-ins. It 's fully furnished and well appointed with
most everything you'll need, heated and air-conditioned, screened 12 x
30 river room overlooking the waterway, and gas BBQ for waterfront
cook-outs. There’s even an old town canoe and a couple of bikes you
can use at your own risk.

     Amenities

Fully furnished and appointed in Fish Camp Chic. Two bedrooms, two
full baths, Lots of closets and storage. Kitchen area or Florida
room
dining for 4, riverside patio or on the dock dining for 6 or more.
Gas BBQ and outdoor furniture. Good air conditioning and heat. Linen
and towels provided. Washer and Dryer. Clubhouse with lots Community
get-togethers, Fabulous warm pool. Wild life and bird life abound and
the river is alive with fish and crabs.

     Attractions

Now then, Attractions?? Well, there’s the tidal river in front to
start, with a 38' boat and fishing dock,'Daisy" the lovey yellow Old
Town canoe that you may use (at your own risk of course) and plenty
of room to tie up your fishing boat if you like. If it's a lightweight
fishing skiff with, say, a 40 HP motor, you should be able to hang it
on the electric davits. It's a beautiful 5 minute run to the Peace
River, and a 1000 miles of waterways to explore within a days run,
from the Gulf to Arcadia. There’s the
view West across the river and unspoiled wetlands all the way to the
sunset. Get the BBQ going with few new friends and great neighbors
who love the life here in this hideaway. This is really the good
life!
I'd recommend starting and ending the day with a leisurely paddle out
in Daisy, the Old Town canoe. At these quite times, you'll see such
an amazing variety of wild life, especially bird life, that thrives
here and all over the Peace River habitat. Then follow up with a walk
or bicycle ride around the area. By then, you'll be ready for a dip
in the 20 x 40 pool that’s always just right.
It's always fun to cruise into Punta Gorda for shopping, a meal, or
some entertainment. It's a 10-12 minute drive - or go by boat.
Weather you play an instrument, like to sing along, or just listen and
socialize, you shouldn't miss the Thursday night musical get togethers
in the waterfront park.
Mike and I have deep roots here in Punta Gorda and our wives, Sandy
and Barbara have come to love it too.. Our mother was born and raised
here, and our earliest memories are of this sleepy little southern
town. We could tell you stories! We loved it here in 1950, and we
still love it here. Sure, we’ve seen all kinds of changes, and then
that Hurricane!! But after 3 years on the rebound, we’re seeing an
amazing transformation, and we like what we see - you will too.
Great care is being taken to restore and retain the original
historical structures and the overall character of the town. The
new buildings and developments are actually making the Town seem
older and more like we remember it, without looking like
Disneyworld.
Punta Gorda has an amazing restaurant row, which offers a wide
variety of delicious food and unique atmospheres, and a myriad of
interesting shops and galleries. There’s Punta Gorda’s historic
district. There’s one enormous Banyan tree that Mike and I climbed
in as a kids and, there, right off the downtown commercial district
stretched along the bay front is Gilcrest Park. The park features
a wonderful bay front promenade, public tennis courts, small beach,
gazebos and bandstands, a fishing pier, and a gathering every
Thursday night of musicians and singers from all over Florida and
the world. If you’re packing an instrument or like to sing, don't
hesitate to join in.
A mile or so West of downtown is Fishermans' Wharf with its many
shops and fun restaurants. From Camp, it’s a 5 minute drive to the
Winn Dixie and a nice shopping center. A short drive to a choice of
grocery stores, Target, Walmart, etc. Driving 30 or 40 minutes in
any directions will take you to a variety of wonderful spots such as
Boca Grande (don’t miss Widen’s Marina - truly the OLD south) and its
beaches, Englewood beach, Arcadia (the antique capital of the
South), picturesque Placida (don’t miss the Fishhouse Restaurant)
and Matlacha (eat and dance at Burt’s Bar), Pine Island, Sanibel
Island, Fort Myers, etc. No wonder Punta Gorda has been named by
Money Magazine as one of five 5 best places to live in the United
States.
Then there’s the fishing and crabbing! Seems we’re usually too busy
when we’re down there to get much fishing done (in fact, the only
trophy fish we had for the photo shoot doubles as a pillow on the
screen porch), but they’re out there. You can get em.. Folks catch
fish and crabs right off their docks here.
