Our villa is situated in Rotonda which is located on the Cape Haze
peninsular south of Venice and Port Charlotte, in an area that is one
of Florida’s best kept secrets. It is very tranquil and certainly a
place for relaxation being built around lakes, waterways and
magnificent golf courses. The villa is also conveniently located for
beaches, restaurants, supermarkets, shopping malls/outlets and various
other forms of entertainment.
Rotonda is a wildlife sanctuary and most visitors are lucky enough to
spot beautifully coloured birds and butterflies as well as many other
exotic species. Visitors to the area have seen cranes, herons,
turtles, egrets, racoons and armadillos. You may even see an alligator
or two sunning themselves on the banks of the waterways. Miles of
sandy beaches with a variety of water- sports from deep sea fishing
(tarpon) to scuba diving are all within a 10 to 15 minutes drive.
If not playing golf or lounging by the pool, then there are numerous
places to visit nearby including the fashionable districts of Venice,
Sarasota, Siesta Key and Longboat Key to the north and Fort Myers,
Naples, Sanibel and Captiva islands to the south. These resorts face
the Gulf of Mexico and all have beautiful white sandy beaches where
you can swim, sunbathe, snorkel, stroll, collect shells, fish or
generally relax and the majority of these beaches have on site
amenities i.e. changing rooms, shower & bathroom facilities, food and
