     Attractions

Royal Blue is situated between Gümüşlük and Yalikavak with easy
access to Bodrum town.

Gümüşlük village is still a lively fishing port, with more than a
dozen fish restaurants along the sea front, displaying a wide
variety of locally caught seafood.

Once the ancient city of Myndos, the village is now in a
conservation area, so no cars are allowed in the centre. The
westerly aspect of Gumusluk provides some spectacular sunsets.

Nowadays the waterfront restaurants enjoy a reputation for excellent
fresh fish amongst Turks from as far away as Izmir, who come at the
weekend to indulge in fine food and wine in an unbeatably romantic
setting. As well as a good choice of restaurants, Gümüşlük has
several small grocers, a couple of craft and carpet stalls and even
a fascinating antique shop.

The small town of Yalikavak still supports a thriving fishing
industry, and the restaurants around the picturesque harbour display
a wide selection of fresh fish every day.

There are many shops in the traffic free centre, and every week the
town hosts one of the biggest fruit, vegetable and clothing markets
on the Bodrum Peninsula.
The small harbour is surrounded by restaurants and bars, and while
there is the occasional disco bar, the general atmosphere is quiet,
unhurried and relaxed.

Turgutreis is the second largest town on the Bodrum peninsula, named
after the respected 16th century admiral, Turgut Reis, the town has
good beaches and many shops and restaurants.

Bodrum is a charming and fascinating little port. The heart of the
town is around the harbour, where shops, bars and restaurants jostle
together in the narrow streets under the shadow of the St. Peter
Castle . The main artery is Cumhurriyet Caddesi (Republic Street),
much better known as bar street.

After sundown, Bodrum lights up with flashing neon and laser shows
to pulsating throb of the latest dance music at the famous
Halikarnas disco.

Weekly Market days in area:

Monday - Güvercinlik
Tuesday - Bodrum (fabrics and clothing)
Wednesday - Gümüslük and Ortakent
Thursday - Bodrum (food) and Yalikavak
Friday - Bodrum (food) and Bitez
Saturday - Turgutreis (food and clothing)
Sunday - Mumcular and Gumbet

Aqua parks: There is the Dedeman Aqua park on the Ortakent road to
Bodrum.

Boat trips can be arranged at any of the quaysides in Yalikavak,
Gümüşlük, Turgutreis or Bodrum.

Night Clubs: The famous Halikarnas open air night club is open
nightly with a capacity of 5000 people.

Transport - the local dolomus (shared taxi) runs regularly along the
main road to Bodrum and the surrounding villages.

A hire car would be handy to visit more remote parts of the region,
but is not essential.

The are regular charter flights to Bodrum International Airport.
