What's so special about Marfa?

Well, let's see. ART, FOOD, NICE PEOPLE, LOTS TO DO, NOTHING TO DO,
Mountains to the North, Hot Springs to the South, Big Bend not too
far away, ART GALLERIES. Marfa is quickly becoming the place to
getaway to. Just ask the people you see in town where they are
from? New York, Texas, Santa Fe, California, Europe, all over the
place.

Why do I want a guest house?

Firstly, comfort - Soft Cotton sheets, hardwood floors, full
kitchen, laundry, land, outdoor patio with fire pit

Secondly, privacy - nuff said.

Thirdly - space - 4 bedrooms, not a cramped hotel room

Fourth - technology - internet, cable, telephone are all there when
you need them

Is there maid service at the 6o8?

Yes, basic maid service is available weekly (included) or daily (if
you are really messy,
for extra money)

What about food?

There are fabulous restaurants in Marfa (see links). Also, Alpine,
Texas is about 25 minutes away and has more variety of restaurants -
its a larger town. There is 1 grocery store in Marfa so you can cook
in our kitchen, as well as two large supermarkets in Alpine. Wine
and beer are available at the Marfa supermarket and El Cheapo Liquor
Store, and Alpine is more amply stocked. You will save considerable
money however if you are flying into Odessa or El Paso and stop for
alchohol there. If you have special requests and are not sure how
to get them, email us.

Our rental rate is $215 per night for 2 people, plus tax. It only costs $50/night for each additional set of 2 people to stay. Here's how it works: Let's say there are 6 people for a non-holiday/special event stay. The base rate is $215 per night, plus $100 for the 4 extra people (kids included) so you are at $315 per night, plus tax. Please note that holidays and events such as Chinati Weekend/Open House, Spring Break, July 4, Marfa Lights Festival, Thanksgiving, and the month of December are higher rates. How about Thanksgiving or Christmas in Marfa? People ask about discounts: *REPEAT GUESTS: 20% off posted rates! Thanks for staying with us again! (Holidays & Special Event weekends excluded) -OR- *Stay 5 nights or more and receive 10% off per night. Some "Fine" Print: *We can comfortably sleep 8 people (a 9th can sleep on the couch if necessary) *We require a 2-night minimum. Some holidays are a 3-night minimum. *The house is NON-smoking. No exceptions. *Dogs are allowed on a case by case basis and are an additional fee *We accept most major credit cards. We require a minimum $500 deposit at time of reservation which will apply towards your stay, the remaining balance will be charged to your credit card 30 days in advance of your check-in date. If your total stay is less than $500 we will charge the full amount of your stay at the time of reservation. There are no refunds. Please note that for special event/holiday stays such as Chinati Weekend, Thanksgiving, etc. we will charge the balance of your stay 60 days prior to check-in. *The kitchen is fully stocked with plates, pots & pans, cooking utensils, etc., and we supply towels, sheets and everything else necessary to make sure that you have a great time. *Your rate includes basic cleaning service when you leave. If you are really messy, there will be an additional charge. *There is a telephone and local calls are free, but please bring a calling card for long distance. Also, check with your cell phone carrier to see if you have coverage in Marfa - many carriers have lousy signals in the area.
