     Description

The unique Villa of Nah Uxibal is located on the white sands of
beautiful Soliman Bay. Soliman is a large, pristine bay abundant
with tropical fish and corals. Sea turtles, rays, needlefish, and
barracuda are just a few that have been seen here, not to mention
the wide array of colorful smaller fish that grace these waters. The
water here is calm thanks to the protective reef that runs between
the two points, providing an ideal environment for swimming,
snorkeling, and kayaking, all of this is right outside your door.
From the lobby and up the rounded staircase is the master
suite. This is a large two bedroom house with yet another level
above. Each bedroom has a king bed and its own colorfully tiled
bathroom. Both bedrooms have private decks with hammocks and lovely
views of the bay. The unique design of the home is intimate yet
spacious. The kitchen is in the central area with granite
countertops and custom cabinets constructed of mahogany. A center
island and bar makes it easy to have more than one cook, while a
large custom made mahogany table seats eight comfortably. A sitting
area is also in this central area under a 35 foot high round palapa
roof. This room is simply gorgeous with it's rounded white rock wall
of windows and French doors facing the ocean.
Step through those doors onto a large terrace with plenty of room
for dancing or just relaxing and taking in the sea breeze. The loft
sits one flight above. On the northside is a billiards table for
your enjoyment, and on the south side a TV area with two queen-size
futons for viewing or extra sleeping space. All this opens to the
central area below, giving the home a open and spacious feeling.

     Attractions

The Pristine waters of Soliman Bay provide fabulous snorkeling
opportunities for all ages and levels of experience. Protected by
the second largest reef in the world, the waters are calm and
relatively shallow, making viewing easy and fun. A wide variety of
corals and sealife grace these waters with their bright colors and
textures. Swimming out to the reef is a great workout, or if you
prefer you can take the kayak, tie to a bouy, and enter the grand
elk and staghorn corals. This is a truly magnificent experience,
where time fall away and you become part of an old and sacred world,
one so exquisite in it's connectedness that we can't help but be
gifted by it's incredible beauty. Closer in, and past the sea grass,
(a very important part of the ecosystem) are many a little oasis of
brain and other corals, perfect for kids or those who prefer to stay
closer to land.

Mayan Ruins, Diving, Highlights

For those who like to explore deeper waters, the nearby dive shops
of Tulum and Akumal will help you to discover the second largest
reef in the world that runs along this exquisite coastline. While
you are here, be sure to visit the nearby Mayan Ruins of Tulum and
Coba. A trip to the Ancient city of Chichen Itza and back is easily
done in a day. Cenotes, (underwater caves) are plentiful in this
area and each one is different and unique but all are clear and
refreshing. The large town of Playa del Carmen where you can catch
the ferry to the island of Cozumel, is just 25 min. north.
