In Summer, main attraction is Memphremagog Lake, 40 miles long,
running from Quebec to Vermont. It offers international swimming
competitions and all kinds of sports activities for all ages. Private
swimming pools and tennis courts are located on the Domain.
The nice and cheerful little town of Magog, five miles from home,
offers fantastic food and lots of tourist-oriented activities. Five
miles on the other direction is Georgeville, a well preserved village
also on the lake; Across the lake is the jewel of St-Benoit Abbey
(Gregorian masses, cheese and apple products). A nearby mountain, Mont
Orford - a skiing resort in Winter - provides also hiking and bicycle
paths, plus a first class Golf Course. The whole area is a perfect
destination for families, some kind of normal people and affordable
Club Med. Most of the people speak English, but you can learn a little
bit of French too, just for the fun of ordering delicious local beers
and cheeses by their name!
In winter, skiing Mont Orford is the main attraction.
Two hours from Montreal airport and one hour and half from downtown
