Located on a quiet, residential side street in Montmartre, the
Tourlaque apartment is literally surrounded by the artistic heritage
of Paris. It is bounded on one side by the former studio of Toulouse
Lautrec, on another side by the Cite des Fusains, which housed artists
such as Forain, Poulbot, Renoir, Willette, and on the third side by
the Cimetiere de Montmartre, a final resting place of many leading
French poets, writers, artists, and historic figures. Some people who
are buried there include Dalida, Alexandre Dumas, Stendhal, Edgar
Degas and Hector Berlioz.
The Artist's Corner apartment has a neighbourhood café just steps from
its front door as well as a green grocer, wine shop, cheese shop,
"patisserie", and more.
Rue Tourlaque is bound by rue Lepic at one end and rue Joseph de
Maistre at the other. This is in the heart of Montmartre, with so much
to explore. You can enjoy a walk through the neighbouring "quartiers"
or take the "RATP" (bus or metro) to anywhere else in Paris.
