     Description 


"Tranquillistas", nature lovers and adventurers will love this
enchanting little jungle lodge where you fall asleep to the waterfall
and symphony of the tropical rain forest. Steps from a river and
between two lakes, a perfect spot to sidestep civilization and treat
yourself to the luxury of complete relaxation and into a state of ease.
The lodge front porch overlooks the river and waterfall and the garden
of orange trees, papaya, banana, orchids, exotic hanging flowers, lime
trees to scent the air. Please pick what you like, but find a
selection picked for you inside.
There is an open floor plan, and high ceiling, with a main room, the
kitchenette and bathroom off to the side.
With varnished woods, bamboo furniture and attention paid to pleasing
details, of artwork and fresh flowers, books and soft candlelight to
fluffy towels, handmade soaps and cotton linens, it's as pleasing as a
cottage in a fairy tale.
The kitchenette has coffee maker, microwave, mini-refrigerator,
complete dishware, glassware, silverware and is stocked with fresh
ground local coffee, and all the necessities for your pleasure.
The tidy bathroom has varnished wood with marble stone/tile shower,
and stocked with every essential plus our beautiful handmade soap.
Outdoors, a charcoal grill and furniture, hammocks strung by the river
and a large private lawn for star gazing.
The mountains are a place of friendliness and calm with a rich
background in the Taino cultural, many historic pueblos and
ritualistic festivals.
There are many roadside eateries, restaurants and bars for typical
food specialties and a hotel for more formal dining.
On weekends and holidays enjoy the water taxi for lake front dining on
Dos Bocas.

Secure wireless internet.
We are an hour and a half from all airports, a half hour from Arecibo,
and 15 minutes from Utuado.
Enjoy some of our local foods at the many roadside eateries,
restaurants and bars for typical food specialties. A hotel is located
just across the street for dining as well.



 

     Attractions 


The mountains offer a lot of attractions, activities, and sight seeing
from adventurous to thrill-seeking.
The Camuy Underground Caves/Caverns, one of the world's most beautiful
and largest underground cavern systems and one of the most popular
attractions.
Angels Cave and Cathedrell Cave nearby the Rio Camuy Caves, these
lessor known caves feature sinkholes in the karst mountains.
Caguana Ceremonial Park features the beteys of the ancient Tiano
tribes, the oldest archeological site in the Caribbean, with tour
guides to explain these wonderful monuments.
Batey Zip-line Adventures for a unique rain forest adventure, with
rappelling, zip lining, caving and hiking expeditions through
preserves, forests and caves.
Acampa PR, all day expeditions in the Toro Negro, waterfall climbing,
zip lines and full moon waterfall climbs, river canyon trekking, rain
forest trekking, rappelling.
The Arecibo Observatory is one of the world's largest radiotelescopes
run by Cornell University.
The Guanica Dry Forest with specimens of flora, native birds and
vegetation not found elsewhere.
Toro Negro Forest with majestic waterfalls and which take in the
island's highest peaks, a spring-fed pool, with well-marked trails to
a spectacular lookout and reservoirs resembling primeval lakes.
The Bosque Cambalache hiking preserve.
Hacienda San Pedro a traditional Spanish coffee plantation, located in
the nearby mountain town of Jayuya.

a 50% deposit is necessary to make a reservation, and can be made through paypal. Rate includes taxes. Balance is due upon arrival.
