     Description

The villa has five bedrooms for a maximum of 9 people. The view from
any window is similar to viewing a landscape painting by an Old Master.

In the Van Gogh you may have two single beds or a double bed as
required. The room has a spacious old wooden closet and a large chest.
Around the walls are images of the famous paintings of the great Dutch
artist.

The Piero della Francesca bedroom shows a reproduction of the "Madonna
del Parto", the only masterpiece ever painted showing the Madonna
pregnant. The original painting is situated a few kilometres from the
Villa at Monterchi. The room presents a double bed, a small closet
with stained glass panels and a large chest of drawers. The window
overlooks the garden.

The first Elisabetta, the grandmother, used to leave her husband in
the night to go sleep in the same room with her niece, who inherited
her name. That's why the name of the 2 Elisabeths bedroom. This room
contains two single beds, which may become a double bed on request.

In the French room, you can have a double bed on request. Here the
images on the walls reflect French life, habits and XIX century
costumes. There are also two small Savonarola couches.

There is an additional bedroom with a single bed.

traditional terracotta floors, wooden-beamed ceilings, and
pietra-serena portals.

     Attractions

The historical town of Cortona, located approx. 4 kms. from the villa,
offers a typical Tuscan landscape, a mixture of art and nature,
medieval and renaissance. Cortona has an outstanding collection of
fine art, the most famous being Fra Angelico’s Annunciation in the
Museo Diocesano.

Beaches are available on the Lake Trasimeno, six kms away. Both on the
shore and on the islands which can be reached by ferryboats. There
aren't typical shore beaches, but interesting and strangely mysterious
walks in the thick vegetation which lead to quiet simple beaches and
tiny villages.

You may visit the Etruscan tombs in the neighbourhood and explore the
nearby historical sites such as Arezzo, Perugia, Assisi, Volterra.
Should you prefer to do sports, within a short walking distance are
facilities for swimming, horsebackriding and tennis. The lake of
Trasimeno is a 10 minute drive away.

You can enjoy spending some time horse riding on the hills along the
"pianelli" of olive groves.
From some recent years, Cortona has the home of the American
University of Georgia. Cortona has better known to the American public
through the books of Frances Mayes, in particular "Under the Tuscan
sun" and the relevant movie with Diane Lane, directed by Audrey Wells.
