VacationsFRBO.com has been in business since June of 2005. In that time period, we have generated nearly 1,000,000 inquiries for property owners. We also offer a flat $9.95 annual listing fee, which we like to point out is "practically free".

A lot has changed in the vacation rental business over that time, including a mass consolidation of big name vacation rental website businesses. There has been a steady progression in the industry by the big business providers to increase fees not only to the vacation rental property owners, but also to the guests in the form of a "service fee". These so-called service fees can range into the hundreds of dollars per each rental transaction. There is also change underway to eliminate direct contact between owners and guests until a booking has been made.

We find this to be a disturbing trend, as owners often want to dialogue with potential guests to get a sense of who they are renting their home to and in order to avoid surprises. Guests also may have questions they would prefer to discuss on the phone. Just having a phone conversation can often go a long way to satisfy both parties that the other party is legitimate and not a fraud.

Our mission is to bring owners and guests together the old fashioned way: by calling on the phone, or emailing each other without fear that their email address will be stripped from the message.

In this day and age when the Internet is making just about everything easier to find, cheaper, more competitive and with a better customer experience (think Amazon), it is unacceptable, in our opinion, to see the big-name players in the vacation rental market heading in the opposite direction.

There needs to be viable alternatives and we aim to be just that. We can only be successful as a viable alternative, however, through property owner support. Please consider listing your vacation rental property with us and we will do our absolute best to make you glad that you did.
