We are located just off Interstate 95 between U.S.1 and the Indian
River.
Within an hour are Disney World, Sea World, Universal Studios, and
all the Orlando area hot spots.
30 minutes from Daytona Beach, 15 minutes from New Smyrna Beach,
minutes from the IntraCoastal Waterway, Cape Canaveral National
Seashore, and a short drive from Kennedy Space Center.
In the local area, boat rentals are available. Also, jet skies,
kayaks, canoes, etc.
Drop your boat in the canal and spend hours exploring Mosquito
Lagoon, Canaveral National Seashore or the rest of the vast
Intercoastal waterways.
Or perhaps walking and bicycling around the neighborhood.
Lots of parks nearby along the Indian River, with playgrounds for
kids, and you just might see manatees in the water!
Local Attractions:
The Beach - Free entertainment in a clean and sunny (most of the
time), peaceful setting (sunbathing, swimming, surfing, jet skiing,
wind surfing, fishing, shell collecting).
Turnbull Ruins - The remaining structure of Dr. Turnbull's
unfinished mansion upon which several other buildings were
constructed and then destroyed.
Turtle Mound - A 50 foot high mound, containing 33,000 cubic yards
of oyster shells, created by the Timucuan Indians. Visible 7 miles
out at sea and historically used as a navigational device.
Canaveral National Seashore - Twenty-four miles of preserved
coastline. Home to many unique species of plants and animals.
Nesting grounds of Loggerhead Sea turtles. This beach and area was
also home to the pirates of legend and often pieces of eight still
wash up on the shores and on the right day, if you're lucky, you
might find one yourself!
Ponce Inlet Lighthouse - Built in 1882 on the north side of the
inlet, the lighthouse stands 175 feet high and overlooks the
Atlantic Ocean and IntraCoastal Waterways. The Lighthouse, directly
across the inlet is located in the town of Ponce Inlet on the same
island as Daytona Shores.
