 Description

Built circa 1890 as a private lodge, “Hiawatha” is one of the oldest camps on Mountain Lake, a small, quiet lake in the Southern Adirondacks. Situated 25 feet above the water on a sunny slope, “Hiawatha” is graced with Gorgeous Sunset Views Of The Lake from its four bedrooms and from the living room and porch spanning its lakefront facade. A flight of steps leads from the deep, furnished porch of the traditional brown-shingled cottage to a 42- foot long stone-walled waterfront with a shallow, hard bottom, ideal for swimming. “Hiawatha” has been lovingly maintained and recently renovated as a traditional Three-Season Cottage charmingly decorated with comfortable camp furnishings. New and antique classic cottage furniture, upholstered and painted in subtle leaf- greens and aquas, includes a queen sleeper-sofa, love seat, comfortable reading chairs and cushioned wicker. Neutral, textural carpeting warms the room. The original riverstone mantel is fitted with an ivory enameled Gas Fireplace, extending the vacation season into spring and fall. A dining table sits beneath a wide lakefront window; a folding games table & chairs can be set up for playing one of the classic board games.
