This wonderful nature retreat features a recently built, three story
vacation home perched on a bluff with spectacular views overlooking a
pristine, undeveloped lake perched between two mountains just a mile
from Penobscot Bay. The house is situated on 7 acres and is surrounded
mainly by the St. Regis Preserve, a project supported and managed by
the Nature Conservancy. In addition, there is also a delightful
cottage style guest house tucked into the woods below the bluff from
the larger house. Together, they provide accomodations for 12 or more
people, with plenty of space to spread out and find blissful solitude
in the idyllic Maine woods. There’s a wonderful beach on the lake, and
incredible hiking trails all around the area. You can even take trails
through the woods to a salt water beach on Penobscot Bay. The house
combines a large living room area and dining area with a large table
seating up to ten people with room to spare, a fully equipped kitchen,
three bedrooms with full double beds, an open dorm area with two twin
beds, a comfortable second living room space in a balcony loft area on
the second floor with t.v. (dvd) and game space, two bathrooms. The
crown jewel of the home is the third floor solarium which provides
panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, valley and two lakes!
There’s also an extra two single beds in the solarium for those who
prefer to sleep in the clouds. It is beautifully crafted with over
40 windows, handsome pine interior floors and ceilings, all tastefully
furnished and artfully decorated in the traditional Maine style.
Outside, there’s a large outdoor deck, charcoal grill, and a screen
house for evenings to keep away the bugs. As beautiful as the home is,
the real attraction is the completely unique location, being
surrounded by many square miles of wilderness protected by the Nature
Conservancy, the Coastal Mountains Land Trust, and Camden Hills State
Park. Everything the outdoor enthusiast could possibly desire is at
your doorstep or just a short drive away, including some of the best
canoeing/kayaking, swimming, sailing and hiking on the Maine coast.
In addition, the retreat is a short drive away from some of Maine's
most cherished coastal communities, including Camden, Rockport,
Belfast, Rockland, Blue Hills and more. This region of the coast is
known for its excellent restaurants, fine art, music, summer theater,
traditional fishing villages, world class sailing waters, islands in
the bay and a host of other attractions as well. There is a canoe
available. The nearest neighbor is almost a half mile distant, and no
private places on Knight's Pond at all - almost like having the entire
lake and the surrounding wilderness for yourselves. We have reduced
rates for spring and fall - please ask. We can also email you many

Fully equipped kitchens, microwave oven, tv/dvd, dial-up internet
access, canoe, outdoor charcoal grill, screen house, games, cd/tape
player radio, cooler, life jackets, volleyball/badminton net, blankets

Summer rate $2700 weekly for house and guest house
Off Season $1200 weekly for house $700 weekly for guest house
Daily rates $300 for house only, and $100 for guest house w/ 2 day minimum

Cleaning fees of $100 for house and $50 for guest house applies to all
rentals.
