For Sale |
|
This property is for sale and listed with a broker. The property is
waterfront on the Sebastian River, 100 feet and includes 3.78 acres,
developable building lots with private road included.
It consists of a number of buildings, the main residence is the old
Winter Beach train depot, built in 1893, by Flagler, later moved and
it was for many years, an Indian River landmark fruit stand, then
moved again to the river. We are in the process of adding a number
of the buildings to the Florida state historical register..
Adjacent to the main house is a guest house and upstairs
office/hobby room. There are screen porches on both overlooking the
pond, fed by an artisian well, which is the water supply for the
entire property. There is a creek running along the property, with a
wonderful grove of timber bamboo on view from the deck, that runs
along the side of the depot. The depot has the very large freight
doors along each side, with custom screen doors, allowing house to
be open to prevailing ocean breeze. There is a cupola with a large
builtin fan, Also the depot and guest house have central air and
heat. The depot has an electric fireplace.
A covered walk connects the depot/main house to the 1904 house, with
an addition added later, the Knights Grocery store, with a charming
porch. The 1904 house has a working fireplace, with window heat and
air units. There are two porches in this building. The property
has a total of 5 full bathrooms, 2 laundry rooms, 6-7 bedrooms and
21/2 kitchens, three indoor dining rooms, and a library. Propane
tanks supply the gas to two kitchens. The home is being sold with
some of the furniture seen. The building are for the most part
Heart Pine and Cypress. There is a small building to the front of
the property that has an artists studio and workshop. The property
extends from Roseland Road to the Sebastian River.
The Fear orchard trees, over one hundred years old, with avocado
and mango trees on site with wetlands and wild left to fend for
itself, fields are mowed but this property has to be self sufficient
as it is left behind in the Summer for a period of months.
