This is our treasured family home of many generations. We are
renting this summer, would like to find one kind and considerate
family (no shares, sorry) who will take care of her as if she were
her own. Rate is approx. $25,000 for August, or willing to rent
entire summer for right situation.
One of Martha’s Vineyards most elegant harborside communities,
Edgartown was the Island's first colonial settlement, and has been
its seat since 1642. Our house, built in 1868, is located in the
heart of the historic district of downtown Edgartown.
The stately black-shuttered, white houses of Edgartown make the town
a museum-piece community, a seaport village preserved from the early
19th century. Out house is within walking distance of shops,
grocers, restaurants, island-wide bus transport, the ferry to
Chappaquiddick Island, where some of Martha’s Vineyard’s best
beaches and hiking trails are located. Biking, or walking, distance
to three other excellent beaches in the townships of Edgartown and
Oak Bluffs. Also within walking distance to Edgartown’s famous Old
Whaling Church, which has been transformed into a performing arts
center. There are great concerts and events there all summer long.
