Description
|
|
Located at the bend of the Shenandoah River, the house has a
beautiful two mile view both up and down river, and of the Blue
Ridge Mountains. The glass-walled master bedroom has a private half
bath and deck. The house has 2 fireplaces (one in the screened in
river front porch along with the hot tub). The house sleeps 6 in
three queen size beds with a sleep sofa in the living room.
Private trails lead to logging trails in the National Forest for
riding and hiking. Misty River is a short walk to the entrance to
Habron Gap Trail leading to the top of Massanutten Mountain in the
George Washington National Forest. A stocked lake/bird sanctuary in
the Forest is 1.5 miles away.

Attractions |
|
Hike and bike on our private and national Forest trails, enjoy our
partnership with the Luray Caverns or the Shenandoah River
Outfitters, antique in Luray and New Market, visit the Civil War
battlefield, enjoy a first run movie in the Page Theater. The
theater is refurbished in the style and comforts of half a century
ago. Offering six small theaters, one with as few as 39 seats, you
will have a most memorable experience. You can ride horses on
Skyline Drive or just on the other side of Massanutten Mountain. Ski
at Massanutten or Bryce Mountains in the winter. Treat yourself to
fun and relaxation.
The Warehouse Art Gallery in Luray rivals galleries in big cities
with talent, space, but not prices. Our local artists are beyond
compare. Your host Donald Liscomb has unique furniture, sculpture
and aboriginal art pieces there, as do our artist children, Chance
Liscomb, sculptor, Lindy Liscomb, equestrian painter, and sister
Christie Liscomb Schmick with her original bird houses. You will see
many original works of art (most for sale) in our cabins.
