hours from the Twin Cities. Spectacular views of lake, sand beach, 
clear clean water (secci disk reading of 13 feet!) with nice gradual 
slope in the shoreline for great swimming (nice sand bottom), plenty 
of fish, and large enough (270 acres) to boat, ski, sail, etc, but 
small enough to enjoy some peace and quiet. 

If a quiet family getaway is what you long for, mornings and 
evenings are guaranteed to be quiet by the "no wake ordinance" after 
5:00pm and before 10:00am. A cozy screen porch to read or just 
relax - and a large deck provide plenty of extra space to lounge. If 
you love to walk there are miles of trails you can access right from 
the door. For the adventurous, the Namekagon River is minutes away - 
Whispering Pines Landing is a good walking distance, and shuttles 
are available for canoeing or tubing. 

Several golf courses to choose from within 10-25 minutes drive. 
Snowmobile and 4 wheeler trails are virtually endless. This chalet 
style cabin was built in 2000 (and the walkout basement was just 
finished in April of 2007) and is well furnished with that "up 
north" feel. 2200 finished square feet (plus screen porch). Amazing 
wildlife/wetland area adjacent to property and forest assures your 
privacy, and holds all kinds of wildlife, but does NOT support 
mosquitoes. 

A "finger" of the wetland area partially crosses the front of the 
property and a short boardwalk brings you straight to the large sand 
beach area. A wide grass pathway lined with wild 
raspberries/blackberries around the wetland to the beach is also 
yours for the picking in season. Large grass lakeside yard with fire 
pit, and plenty of flat area for bocce ball, horse-shoes, or 
volleyball. 

All the amenities of home included in this rustic setting. Comes 
with canoe, paddle boat, row boat, windsurfer, swimming dock, and of 
course a hammock strategically placed on the beach. A 22’ deck boat 
is also available for rental.

beautiful fall colors of Autumn, or if hunting, fishing, tubing and 
four wheeling are what you crave, there is one constant, regardless 
the time of year that you visit: you can always count on peace and 
quiet to help you "decompress" from the pressures of everyday life.

Guided Fishing Tours and Trophy Hunting
Fishing at Matthews Lake, and the rivers and streams nearby can be 
even more fun with the help of a fishing guide. Fishing guides can 
give you tips and take you directly to where the fish are biting. 
Some will even allow you to use some of their fishing equipment 
while they teach you how to catch that trophy fish. You can find

If hunting and shooting is your outdoor activity, you may be 
interested in nearby trophy hunting opportunities. The area around

Peak Season requires a 1 week minimum stay. Off Peak seasons require 
a 2 night minimum stay

MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY 
The number of guests is limited to eight (8) persons for the base 
rate. An additional charge of $25.00 per person per night will be 
assessed for any additional persons over (8), up to maximum of (14) 
guests. Additional guests over (8) must be pre-approved.
