the "Blanca Mastiff" - it is nothing short of magical!! Just walk

and grandeur of the Mountains.
The cabin sits on a five acre ranch parcel that will make you feel
right at home in a hand crafted log home with beautiful finishes,

couches, leather chairs and a beautiful eat in kitchen that seats 6
comfortably. Experience it all in an area that has so much to see
and do. Antelope Ranch is one mile from the entrance to the Great
Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve. The dunes and surrounding
mountains are designated wilderness; this is a great place to enjoy
unspoiled natural beauty in a variety of ways.
The SLV, as the natives call it, is south of Pueblo and west of
Walsenberg, Colorado. This amazing valley is host to some of the
most break taking views, mountain vistas and mountain ranges in the
state. After leaving Walsenberg you will pass the Cuchara Valley,
LaVeta Pass and the Highway of Legends. The Scenic Highway of
Legends starts at the cities of Trinidad, Aguilar and Walsenburg and
circles the Spanish Peaks. The Byway takes visitors through the San
Isabel National Forest and crosses the 9,994 foot Cuchara Pass and
the 11,248-foot Cordova Pass. The Byway is home to unique
geological, cultural and historic features and includes a myriad of
legends from the Native Americans, the Spanish Conquistadors, and
the pioneers, miners, trappers, and ranchers who explored and then
settled this region.
To many Native Americans, Mt. Blanca is sacred ground. At 14,345
feet . Mt. Blanca watches over the sunny community that shares its
name. Blanca provides a welcome stop along the Los Caminos Antiguos
(The Ancient Roads) Scenic Byway, a driving tour tying together
several small towns, old military forts, Colorado's oldest church
and plenty of friendly residents. Blanca sits just west of the
preserved Fort Garland, once commanded by famed frontiersman Kit
Carson.
Not to be missed are the Zapata Falls, where the Sangre de Cristo
snowmelt cleaves area rock. Whether you play in Medano Creek, build
a sand castle, slide down the dunes, go bird watching in wetlands,
or ascend a 13,000' peak, you will discover plenty of kinds of
outdoor recreation for all ages. Three miles from the Great Sand
Dunes is San Luis Lake & State Park has been a water sports haven in
the San Luis Valley since the 1920s. Water skiing, motor boating,
personal watercraft, fishing, sailing, windsurfing and swimming
continue to be popular at San Luis.
Just 20 minutes from Alamosa, Colorado. Alamosa, the Spanish word
for cottonwood grove, sits in the center of the San Luis Valley and
is surrounded by the majestic Sangre de Cristo and San Juan
mountains. Nestled along the Rio Grande River, at about 7,500', the
city where the southwest meets the Rockies boasts 360 days of
sunshine.
While you are in Blanca, you are centrally located for a slew of day
trips that can take you to the heart of the southwest in Taos, New
Mexico or fly fishing in the quaint mountain town of South Fork or
Creede.
