Unlike any other Island rental, the SandBox Inn is the upper half of a 
beach house located in a quiet 
residential area on the north side of South Padre Island, Texas -- 
just half a block from public beach access #16. Spacious 2BR/2BA 
sleeps up to 10 with 1500 + sq feet of living area and 600 sq feet of 
decks. Brand new appliances, central air/heat. Cathedral ceiling and 
huge loft bedroom (aka "the dorm.") (Admittedly slight) water views of 
both the Gulf and the Bay from the front deck - the garden/sandbox 
from the back deck. 
Unique, comfy "Beach Shack Chic" decor features hardwood floors, hand-
crafted driftwood furniture , poured-concrete counter tops and an 
Eames Lounger. All the beds were purchased brand new in 2/07. 
Satellite TV or plug your iPod into the sound system. Doggy door (for 
small-medium sized dogs) available to give your dog access to the 
fenced, spacious backyard (providing s/he gets along with Peach the 
housedog.)

Full kitchen includes new refrigerator with ice-maker, coffee maker, 
espresso machine, blender, toaster, dishwasher, full oven and gas 
stove. Poured concrete countertops and hardwood floors throughout. 
Brand new pool table, antique upright piano, sweet iPod-driven sound 
system, new wide-screen TV (DISH), and 2 huge decks for people/bird/
butterfly watching. High speed internet is available via either WiFi 
or ethernet cable.

Back deck features an outdoor bar and a birds eye view of the owner's 
sandbox and garden. “Sandy feet”  is a professional sand sculptor who 
offers free group/private sandcastle building instruction with a full 
week’s stay - nicely discounted for less. This unit is very open and a 
great space for parties, reunions and get-togthers of as many as 50-60 
people. 

Half a block from public beach access and two doors down from the 
island's best restaurant (Blackbeards). Other restaurants within 
walking distance include Mamcita's (Mexican), Paulino's (Italian) and 
Dorado's Bar & Grill (local cuisine.) Wanna Wanna - a fun beachfront 
bar and grill - is just four blocks away (nice beach walk) and 
features the best live music all summer long. Island cinema is two 
blocks away as is a Stripes convenience store and you are just one 
block from Dolce Roma (gelato and espresso.)

The public beach access features free parking (though it is a very 
easy walk) and umbrella/beach chair rentals.

Rates range from $150/night to $300/night based on the season. Last 
minute deals are often available from the website - I am 
highly motivated to keep this unit occupied.
