The Pendaries Valley is in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains 12 miles 
northwest of Sapello, New Mexico.  Drive 120 miles north from 
Albuquerque to Las Vegas; take 
Exit 345; turn left on University, right on Seventh Street; 10 miles 
to Sapello.  Turn
left onto NM 94; go 12 miles.  
  Pendaries Park Gate House is just past the gas station/store.  
Check with Matt or Dorothy to get directions to Cottage #3A. 

The large south-facing windows of the Newell Pendaries Cottage give 
onto a wonderful view of the Pendaries Valley, including the old 
grist mill, the mercantile, and Hermit’s Peak. This is simply one of 
New Mexico’s very best panoramic views.
The Cottage has a full kitchen, two bathrooms, a large bedroom, a 
double loft with clerestory windows, and a second-floor redwood 
deck.  It is tastefully furnished, provides a microwave oven and 
television with VCR and DVD.  Our cottage library has spellbinding 
books about New Mexico and the local area. Remember to read about 
Rociada and Pendaries in the green book, “Villages
of New Mexico.”

Cottage is convenient to nearby State Parks mountain lakes and 
streams for prime fishing scenic Pecos Wilderness trails for hiking 
or horseback ridingseasonal downhill and cross-country skiing areas
	 
Enjoy walking and picnicking in breathtakingly beautiful terrain
Take in views of adobe churches and homes in surrounding villages
For anyone who enjoys golf, Pendaries Golf Course at 7500 feet 
altitude has 18 holes / par 72 and gorgeous views at every hole.
