Description
|
|
"Serene cottage in the tree tops". This lovely cottage sits on top of
a hill, over-looking Opinicon Lake. Sitting on the back deck you can
watch the owls and hawks land in the trees next to the back deck. You
can look down at the lake and watch the deer drinking water from it,
or get up in the morning and have a flower garden full of deer, or a
porcupine wandering by. Beautiful sunsets can be viewed from the back
deck. 7.5 private acres full of wildlife!
The cottage has 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. Great swimming to be
enjoyed in the sandy wade-in area or, deep drop-off from the docks.
The linen closet upstairs has sheets and towels, and the kitchen is
fully stocked with any utensil you could need. There is a wood stove
in the living area as well as electric baseboard heating. The back
porch has a nice table and chairs that you can enjoy a meal on if you
wish. For those of you who want to stay in shape while you’re on
vacation there is an exercise bike on the back porch. There is also a
phone available but for local calls only (long distance calls with
calling card only). The first floor also has a washer and dryer.
There
is a TV with a DVD player for those rainy days. There is a small
rowboat with oars that comes with the rental. You may bring your own
motor or rent one at one of the many marinas if you like. The cottage
comes with two docks.
Brooks Bay has some of the best large mouth bass fishing on Opinicon
Lake. There is a nice sandy area next to the floating dock, which is
great for swimming. The lower shed contains floaties for swimming,
life jackets and oars for the small boat. While sitting on the dock
you can watch the beavers swim by with small branches in his mouth.
The Rideau Lakes Region is a great place to explore. You can take
advantage of the great fishing, boating, swimming, waterskiing, or
lock through the historic canal system to the other attached lakes
and
towns. In the surrounding towns and cities there are also lots of
activities, and events to participate in including, golf, historic
tours, boat tours, shopping restaurants, parties, and lots more.
