Mission Beach is a short drive (15 minutes) from many attractions 
such as the World Famous San Diego Zoo, Sea World, beautiful Balboa 
Park and the historic Hotel Del Coronado just to name a few.

Located between the ocean and San Diego's sprawling 4,600-acre 
Mission Bay Park, Mission Beach is the quintessential San Diego 
beach community. Known as The Strand, the Mission Beach penninsula 
extends over two miles from the entrance of the Mission Bay Channel 
to the north end of Pacific Beach. Sunbathing, swimming, surfing and 
other beach activities are popular on the ocean side. Jet skiing, 
windsurfing, sailing and kayaking are the sports of choice on the 
bay side. 

A newly widened cement boardwalk parallels the beach permitting 
walking, biking, skateboarding, rollerblading and related 
activities. The boardwalk extends for over 11 miles as it winds its 
way from the ocean front on the west side of the penninsula to the 
bay front on the east. There are shops, restaurants and beach rental 
outfitters at the foot of Ventura Street near the famous Big Dipper 
Roller Coaster and Belmont Park.
