The small cottage, built in 1998, is located in back of an 1840's 
historic house. It is representive of a southern style historic out 
house kitchen.In the spring catch the scent of the lilac bush as you 
walk the brick walk to the terraced shade garden, up the wooden 
steps to the front door of the cottage.    

The cottage first floor is one big room.  The living room area has a 
fireplace surrounded with bookcases. TV & VCR are hidden behind a 
picture.  There is a deck and terrace to enjoy your morning coffee. 
And a built-in alcove bed to cozy into with a good book.   The small 
kitchen has a two burner stove, a microwave, and  a small but full 
size refrigerator.  A spiral staircase leads to the 2nd floor where 
there is a bedroom w/ queen bed, and a bath with a shower. The view 
out the back is a large black walnut tree and a huge 300 year old 
Tulip Poplar, 3rd largest in the state.  

Odessa is a small quaint town.  Population 286. The cottage is 
located one block from three 18th century museum houses, including 
barns and other out buildings. Tours are given Thursday, Friday, 
Saturday and Sunday.  A hotel and bank (cir. 1840)  house changing 
exhibits. Plan you wedding in the Corbit Sharp 18th centry garden 
and spend your first night together in a charming, romantic cottage. 
Or experience an 18th century hearth cooked dinner at the Collins 
Sharp House, then meander back to your little cottage for two.  The 
Corbit Calloway Memorial library is a 1/2 block away. This library 
is known to be one of the best in the state for geneology.  Odessa 
is central to the state and is easily accessible to local interests, 
such as Fort Delaware, Winterthur Point to Point, or the NASCAR 
races. A tennis court is a block away.  

Day to day rates include a continental breakfast.  Homemade 
bread/muffins, homemade granola, fruit, juice, coffee/tea.  
Breakfast is either served in the main house (on the porch weather 
permitting) or brought to the cottage/or cottage terrace.
