Description
|
|
Situated above the old general store in the center of the village,
this original owner's apartment was completely re-done in 2003. With
views across the working harbor to the ocean beyond, guests can watch
the lobster boats go out in the mornings and watch them return with
dinner in the afternoons.
If Schoodic is the quiet side of Acadia National Park, Corea is the
quiet corner of Schoodic. Spend the day under the apple tree with a
good book, or visit local farmstands and wineries, walk along the
rocky coast, hike trails in the park, gather fresh berries along the
roadside for a pie, and poke around in antique shops and galleries.

your visit, including a fully equipped kitchen, towels and bed

on clear nights!

Attractions |
|
Near Corea, on the Schoodic peninsula, visitors will find two
libraries, a bank, grocers, shops, restaurants, and bicycle and kayak
rentals, as well as farms for fresh produce (and some meats),
Bartlett Estate Winers, and Acadia National Park. Bar Harbor is a
ferry ride away in Winter Harbor, and lobster is available at the
Corea Lobster Co-op. In August, the area hosts Schoodic Arts for
All, a two-week long festival. Antique shops and art galleries are
plentiful in the area, and lighthouses dot the coast. At low tide,
you can walk along the ocean's floor to look for sand dollars and
star fish.

For Sale |
|
The building which includes the Postman's Loft is listed for sale
with Downeast Properties. It originally housed the old general store
and post office downstairs, with living quarters upstairs. The
general store no longer functions, and the space is available for a
shop or gallery. The US post office still operates out of part of
the downstairs and has a lease for another ten or so years.
