Attractions |
|
You can canoe down the Torch River or golf at the Evergreen Golf Club
which is one of the top courses in Canada and is only 30 minutes
away. Spend your days fishing for Walleye and Northern Pike on Tobin
or Codette Lakes, 30 and 45 minutes away, respectively. In Nipawin
you can attend the Vanity Cup, a very prestigious fishing event. The
Saskatchewan Premier's Walleye Cup is also an event you won't want to
miss.
You can visit local craft stores such as The Love Barn, located in
the village of Love or The Arts Of Boreal, in the town of Nipawin.
The Living Forestry Museum is also a must-see in Nipawin where you
can trace the history of the surrounding area through their antiques
and memorabilia. Every July 1st, the museum hosts a special display
for Canada’s birthday. Included are bread baking in real clay ovens,
lumber sawing with a steam powered saw mill and threshing
demonstrations using vintage tractors and threshing machines.
Visit exotic animal farms and ranches where animals such as Bison
and Elk (Wapiti) are raised. In the Spring and Fall, seeding and
harvesting operations can be seen in the area south of us.
For winter visitors, you can ski at the Wapiti Valley Ski Park
nearby and enjoy the double chair lift on hills with lots of snow as
they have their own snow making equipment. Snowmobilers are welcome
at River Trail. You can go snowmobiling through the exhilarating
northern stretch of the Trans Canada Trail on well maintained,
groomed trails. Snowshoeing and cross-country skiing are also popular.
