This cottage has been referbished from the orginial "Powder House". The
community of Port Orford stored dinimate and blasting powder here. We
have turned this historic building into a comfortable home with
dishwasher, large kitchen dining area, two bedrooms and 1 & 1/2 baths.
The Organic Garden just outside the back door is avilable for you to
pick vegetables, whatever is in season at the time.

Attractions |
|
Port Orford is a uniquely diverse area. First it is literally the
gateway to the beautiful "Americas Wild Rivers Coast" From here you
can explore 3 federally designated Wilderness Areas encompassing
approximately 800,000 acres. Five federally designated Wild and Scenic
Rivers flow to the Pacific near here. Thanks to private, volunteer,
and government efforts there are hundreds of miles of trails nearby,
including many traversing the rugged cliffs of the Pacific taking you
to very remote sandy beaches. Others take you to small mountain lakes
and into small areas where rare pre ice age plants still thrive. Bird
lovers will enjoy the diversity of approximately 260 families that
nest and migrate through this area.
Visit Cape Blanco Lighthouse. Free daily tours all summer 12 miles.
Charter fish just a short walk from the cabin to the dock.
