The lovely heated studio cottage is behind my post-Victorian home set
amid lush greenery, flowers and fruit trees. The interior has been
completely remodeled. Adjacent to the 9' x 17' main room is a private
bathroom with shower (no tub).
Within the main room is a compact kitchenette with sink, 2 hot
plates, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, 4.6 cubic foot
refrigerator, small table and chairs, and a double bed. There are
reading lamps, a dresser and shelves. The cottage has screened upper
and lower windows, a skylight, and two doors opening into the lovely
gardens and a new 8 x 12 foot deck, where you'll find outdoor dining
and seating areas.
There is a 4' x 8' loft that can accommodate another person for
sleeping. This cozy area is enclosed by railings (except for the
ladder access section) and also includes some built-in shelves, and
fan. There’s ample room for an adult to sit, but not stand. There is
a screened window for natural light and a view of the garden.
IMPORTANT: For safety reasons, children under 7 are not permitted
in the loft AT ANY TIME.
You'll be doing your own housekeeping, although the owner empties
trash and supplies fresh towels and other necessities occasionally,
or at your specific request. If you stay more than a week, your bed
will be re-made with clean linens.
Ride your bikes or walk downtown. Less than a block away is a path
that runs along the levee by the San Lorenzo River. We're about nine
EASY-walking blocks to the downtown shopping area, and just over a
mile to the beach, wharf and boardwalk.
Downtown Santa Cruz has many excellent restaurants, outdoor cafes,
unique stores and galleries, and movie theaters. Near PTC on Ocean
Street is the Visitor's Bureau and a few diners, restaurants and
Marianne's Ice Cream shop with homemade ice cream and pies.
CHECK-IN is from 3 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. No later check-ins.
CHECK-OUT is noon or before.
