 Description 


The house is located in the resort town of Seaside, on the Necanicum River, 5 blocks to the beach, near the city center, and right next door to the Seaside International Hostel. The hostel next door has a full service espresso bar, canoes and kayak rentals, and additional private rooms and dorms for overflow lodging. Seaside is 75 miles west of Portland on the northern Oregon Coast (1 1/2 hour driving time). The Amtrak bus from Portland stops at the hostel.

 Attractions 


The area features: Festivals & Events - the town hosts many year round events. Here’s a sample: Seaside...And All That Jazz; 4th of July Celebration; Hood to Coast (200 mile relay run from Mt. Hood to Seaside); National Beach Volleyball Tournament; Sand Castle Sculptures (Cannon Beach); Kite Competitions; & Yuletide at Seaside. Canoe or Kayak - right from the house on the calm waters of the Necanicum River. Canoes and sea kayaks are available to rent at the Hostel next door. Biking - all types can be rented or bring your own and ride the 2 mile ocean promenade or mountain bike the trails. Shopping - Broadway (9 blocks) features locally owned shops, galleries, bookstores, antiques, arcades & many cafes. Seaside Outlet Shops and Cinema are 3 blocks away. Hiking - there are a number of hiking trails in the area including the designated National Wild and Scenic Tillamook Head Trail. This 8 mile trail cascades high above the ocean from Seaside to Cannon Beach, through old growth forests, to secluded beaches and coves. Or explore the Necanicum Estuary, just a few blocks from the house, where the river meets the ocean and home to many birds and marine life. Nearby ... ... Cannon Beach (6 miles) - is a unique coastal town with numerous galleries and the renown Haystack Rock and Ecola State Park. ... Astoria (18 miles) - the oldest west coast town is home to the Maritime Museum and the Astoria Column. … Fort Clatsop National Monument (16 miles) Lewis and Clark Fort, and Fort Stevens State Park (10 miles) where the coast meets the Columbia River: miles of bike trails, historic military bunkers, Native American long house, museum, and beaches.

Low season: $150/night (Oct 1 - Feb 28, excluding Thanksgiving Day & weekend, Christmas break, and President's Weekend) Mid season: $170/night (Mar 1 - May 20, plus Thanksgiving Day & weekend, Christmas break, and President's Weekend) High season**: $190/night (May 21 - Sept 30) Memorial Day weekend, Labor Day Weekend, and Hood to Coast weekend: $260/night *Rates are for up to 6 people, $10/person/night beyond 6, maximum of 12 people *2 night minimum, 7th Night Free *$300 refundable damage / excessive cleaning deposit *30 day cancellation policy **5 night minimum during high season
