Our grandfather built this 1941 cottage at the foot of Cox's Head on the 
Kennebec River. Beautiful sunrises, expansive river views on 3 sides and 
a deck that sits out over the water make this an unforgettable spot for 
a quiet getaway. Hike up Cox's Head for an incredible vista. The main 
room of the cottage has a large central table, plenty of seating, with 
two built-in tables looking out 10 windows facing the river. There is a 
pull-out sofa, small bar and glass-front wood stove. Kitchen has stove, 
refrigerator, microwave, deep chest freezer and a dryer for those wet 
bathing suits and towels. Both bedrooms have doors to the outside and 
views of the river.

In addition to a modern bathroom with tub/shower, there is a fun outdoor 
enclosed shower. You may enjoy eating outside at the large patio table, 
cooking with the gas grill, or fishing off the deck. Children are 
welcome, but the proximity of the house to the river with swift current 
make it imperative for parents to supervise children at all times.

Popham's beautiful sandy beach is only 5 miles away and historic Bath, 
with plenty of provisions is 15 minutes. Rainy day? LL Bean famous for 
24 hour shopping in Freeport is 30 miles and Boothbay Harbor just 45 
minutes away.

Summer rates beginning in June are $1000 per week plus 7% Maine tax.
