This Tenure is for summer use only. It allows for horse back riding
and horse packing, along with this obviously comes wildlife viewing,
bird watching, landscape photography. Wildlife include Grizzly
bears, deer, moose, elk, bighorn sheep, mountain goats, wolves, and
many more smaller wildlife. The highlight of this Tenure is the right
to construct two modern ecolodges. One of Lodges purpose would be
for entertaining the clients in, with a kitchen, dinning room and
Guide quarters in the upper loft. The second Lodge is to be used for
accommodation for all the clients.
The Location is due South of Fernie Alpine Resort (Fernie BC) by
approximately 5KM. The Trail Head is 65KM from The Canadian Rockies
International Airport at Cranbrook BC. Access is from a very very
small place called Elko BC. We drive up into the mountains for about
8.5KM to where the Lodges are to be located.
The Lodge location is referred to as the "Intensive Use Site". This
will contain both the Dining Lodge and Guest Lodge as well as a wash
stand, pit privy, fire pit site, tool shed, garbage containment unit,
propane storage area, horse corral, weather station, helispot, water
storage tank, water drainage pit.
There are two "satellite campsites" that are a days walk away from
the Intensive Use Site in two different locations. They each include
fire pit sites, tent sites, outdoor kitchen and dinning area, pit
privy, wash stand, horse tie-up area.
The water supply for the intensive use site is collected melt water
into water tanks. Potable water is to be packed in.
There are approximately 50KM of trails throughout the Tenure area.
covering an area of over 1757ha of land (over 4300 acres).
