Mountain Valley Retreat is a four bedroom, one bath cabin that sleeps 
up to 6 comfortably.  Located in the heart of Pocahontas County, West 
Virginia our private getaway is convenient to everything this 
wonderful area has to offer!  Located 6 miles off of Highway 219 this 
cabin is truly a private, relaxing retreat located minutes from 
Snowshoe Ski Resort.

Current amenities include two bedrooms on the first floor with one 
bedroom featuring a queen-sized bed and the other bedroom featuring a 
double bed.  A spiral staircase leads upstairs to two additional 
bedrooms with one bedroom featuring a king-sized bed and the other 
featuring two twin beds.  Our family room features hardwood floors 
and a wood burning fireplace great for those cold winter nights.  Our 
cabin has a fully stocked kitchen and includes a refrigerator, stove, 
microwave, toaster and coffeemaker.  All linens, towels and cooking 
utensils are provided - bring only your clothes and food!  Dish TV, 
VCR and DVD entertainment options are available in the family room as 
well as WiFi and a private phone (calling card required).  An outdoor 
propane cooking grill is available as well as an open fire pit.  
Garage parking is also available and we are kid-friendly.  We love 
our pets and understand you may want to bring your pet on vacation.  
We are also pet-friendly with a reasonable additional charge for 
pets. 

The Monongahela National Forest is literally in our backyard!!  Walk 
out the back door, across a small stream and you have immediate 
access to endless hunting and hiking possibilities!  World Class 
fishing is located minutes away in the Greenbrier River, Williams 
River, Handley Lake, Cheat River and Back Creek.  We are also minutes 
away from the nationally recognized Highland Scenic Highway, a must 
see. Cutting across Monongahela National Forest, this 43-mile route, 
much of which follows Rte. 150, the highest major road in the state- 
provides dramatic views of the Allegheny Highlands. 

Mountain Valley Retreat is located just miles from Snowshoe 
Mountain.  This all-season resort hosts many different activities 
including Skiing, Snowboarding, Cross Country Skiing, Snowmobiling, 
Snowshoeing, Hiking, Rock Climbing, Mountain Biking, Sporting Clays 
and Golf at the famous Raven Golf Course.  Golfweek magazine has 
ranked Raven as the #1 public golf course in WV for four straight 
years. 

Stay with us over the summer and enjoy the many activities in the 
area including the Chili Cook-off, West Virginia Symphony; Orchestra, 
Blues Blues; BBQ, GNC Motor cross and ATV Race, 4th of July 
Celebration, Motorcycle Freedom Festival, Jeep Jamboree, Wine; Jazz 
Festival, Oktoberfest, Pioneer Days, and the infamous Road Kill 
Festival. Take a scenic ride on the Cass railroad or take a leisurely 
float on the Greenbrier River. Visit the National Radio Astronomy 
Observatory, Lost World Caverns, Falls of Hill Creek, Droop Mountain 
State Park, Beartown State Park, Watoga State Park and the Seneca 
National Forest.  Along the way, you’ll find wildlife, waterfalls, 
150 miles of hiking trails, and the 36,000 acre Cranberry Bogs 
Wilderness Area and Visitors Center. The county is home to two other 
nationally recognized scenic byways as well that are accessible year-
round.
