Description
|
|
Land's End Apartment at Inn Britannia is a wonderful, third-floor,
1500 sq. ft. studio-style apartment. Land's End has ten dormer
windows overlooking the gardens, woods, and a peek at the bay.
Everything is furnished for your vacation relaxation - just arrive
and settle in. You can enjoy our 5 acres of gardens and moss-covered
natural woods. The apartment is furnished with one double-size bed
and two twin beds; we can add additional twin mattresses if needed.
We provide a lobster pot so you can enjoy your own fresh lobster
purchased just 5 minutes down the road at a local lobster pound. We
are happy to share fresh eggs from our beautiful hens. We offer a
barbecue pit for your outdoor grilling and plenty of lawn furniture
so you can enjoy dinner outdoors or just relax with a book. Walk down
our private lane to a rocky beach -you will most likely have the
beach all to yourself.
If antiques are your passion, be aware that mid-coast Maine is known
as the antiques capital of New England. Enjoy rummaging through old
barns filled with treasures or spend time at the many flea markets
along the coastal highway.
The mid-coast of Maine is home to numerous galleries featuring
beautiful sculptures, paintings, and pottery. Our many museums share
stories of the history and architecture of the area - learn about the
days when Searsport was home to dozens of sea captains who sailed
around the world. Visit Fort Knox and spend the day exploring its
historical nooks and crannies.
In an hour you can be hiking in Acadia National Park, strolling the
delightful streets in Bar Harbor or driving through the blueberry
barrens and through the lobstering villages on the Blue Hill
Peninsula. Or visit the quaint shops of Searsport, Belfast, Camden
and Rockland. Explore Sears Island, the largest uninhabited island on
the eastern seaboard - there are several trails that invite you to
spend and hour or a full day on this quiet natural habitat. You might
even drive to Franklin Roosevelt's home at Campobello and have lunch
in St. Andrews by the Sea in New Brunswick, Canada.
Searsport is an hour from the airports at Bangor, Augusta or Bar
Harbor; 2 hours from Portland, 4 hours from Manchester and Boston.
