Wanney Cottage is a beautifully renovated self-catering, 19th
century former quarryman's cottage, situated high in the hills, in
the heart of Northumberland. Retaining its charm with all modern
facilities, Wanney Cottage is the ideal place to explore the many
tourist attractions in the area. The cottage is situated on a
private lane with the village and village pub only a 5 minutes walk
away. In a rural location it offers to visitors a peacful and quiet
place to enjoy and relax.

The cottage has a cosy living room with dining area and woodburning
stove. It is centrally heated and double glazed throughout. The
soon room offers stunning views over open countryside and
Cheviot Hills and Scotish Borders. The separate kitchen is spacious
and well equipped, including washing machine, dishwasher,
fridge freezer, microwave. All basic cooking and cleaning materials
are provided. Upstairs are the large bedroom with kingsize bed and
plety of storage space, the small bedroom with a single bed and the
bathroom with thermostaic shower over the bath. There is a large
double sofa bed in the sun room, extending the sleeping space for up
to 4/5 people if needed. Outside, adjacent to fields and open
countryside, is a large, fenced in garden equipped with table and
chairs, sun loungers and barbeque. There are a travel cot, high
chair and stairgates available for small children. Shops are
available at Bellingham (15 minutes drive), Hexham (30 minutes
drive) and a limited selection at the local post ofiice/convenient
store at West Woodburn (5 minutes drive).

Wanney Cottage, being situated in the heart of Northumberland, has
many tourist attractions in easy reach, Hadrian's Wall, Alnick
Castle, Crag Side at Rothbury, Kielder Water, old market towns and
villages of Hexham and Corbride,the Northumberland coast with its
deserted, sandy beaches and picturesque fishing villages and
castles, two major cities of Newcastle upon Tyne and Edinburgh with
cultural events and attractins and the Scottish Borders It is
suitable for walking, climbing,bird watching,fishing,golf,horse
riding,watersports or just a place to relax and enjoy nature and the
beautiful surrounding countryside.

Rates |
|
Wanney Cottage is open throughout the year, from Saturday to
Saturday. It is available from 4pm on arrival and has to be vacated
at 10am on the day of departure. The cottage is usually let weekly;
short breaks may be available out of season.
(January/February/Neovember/December except Christmas and New Year).
The rates vary according to season starting from £230 per week to
£420 per week during peak season. A 25% deposit secures the
booking. The balance is due 8 weeks before the start of the
holiday. Late bookings require payment in full. If guests cancel
their booking the deposit will be not be refunded, unless the
cottage can be re-let. If the owner has to cancel all moneys paid
will be refunded in full. Dogs and small pets are welcome by prior
arrangement. There is not extra charge for pets.
