Travel down the famous "red road" - one of the most beautiful drives 
on the island.

Beautiful Kapoho Bay with it's turquoise blue waters will delight 
you as you watch the glorious sunrises.

Lava Tree Park is on the way in.

Champagne Pond is a crystal clear, thermally heated pond within the 
gated community.  The Park hotponds are also only about 2 miles 
drive.

Isaac Hale Park and Pohoiki Bay about 5 miles are a surfer's 
delight.  Fishermen also like to launch their boats from here.

Waiopae Tidepools are only about a mile away and offer some of the 
best snorkeling around.

The lava flow (as Pele permits) will get you up close and personal 
with the new land forming on this island.  The Volcanoes National 
Park is about 29 miles.

Waterfalls can be viewed in Hilo (about 30 miles) and north of Hilo.

Farmer's Market on Sundays in Keaau will let you taste the many 
fruits and vegetables in Hawaii and also experience many of the 
craft items, jewelry, etc.

This area has mostly black sand and black lava beaches.  Kehena 
Beach is about 15 miles.  The newly forming black sand beach at 
Kalapana is at the end of the road.
