Description
|
|
A highly secluded, fully equipped home with a spectacular view. It is
uniquely situated on the highest point of the Island. Three minutes by
foot takes you to the 5 miles of white sand Ocean beach and but 2
minutes to the dock on the Sea; the house is close enough to see and
hear both. A 12 ft. cathedral living room ceiling gives an appropriate
sense of space; the spiral stairway accents the wood interior. 17 feet
of window space overlooks the Sea of Abaco. Cross ventilation, A/C & 5
ceiling fans, including one on the porch, assures total seasonal
comfort. The screened lanai extends the real living space and allows
full view of the Bahamian sunsets. On rare occasions, a careful
observer may sight the elusive 'green flash' that all seafaring folks
watch for. The grounds boast over 50 young citrus, exotic fruit and
indigenous trees. In season, feel free to pick the bananas, papayas,
and/or whatever may be available in the vegetable garden.

Amenities |
|
No 'Club Med'; Guana is the ultimate relaxing vacation. A tranquil,
unspoiled, Island 180 miles East of West Palm Beach. There is plenty
of 'non-doing' and a bit of doing if you like fishing, snorkeling or
swimming in the most beautiful water, unlike any other. One may linger
over an unhurried dinner under the stars; explore the Island's 5 miles
of spectacular white sand ocean beach and adjacent reef, swim from the
dock in the Abaco Sea; or seek rare sea shells on nearby man-made
Shell Island. Indeed, a bounty of activity is available on this tiny,
yet largest Island, in the outer Cays that warmly welcomes one and
all. But the best advice comes from a native, 'Just kick back and
enjoy.' If you would like to leave a phone # for emergencies Jackie
Sands is our property manager. Once you board the
ferry in Marsh Harbour; ask the Captain to call Jackie's VHF, to alert
her that you are on the ferry. She will meet you at the ferry dock,
show you are shared dock and introduce you to the house.

The Cay itself, is an unspoiled Island 180 miles East of West Palm
Beach. (26.40 N X 77.0 W). It is bounded on the South by the Sea of
Abaco and on the North by the Atlantic Ocean. It is close enough to
hear the lapping of the Sea and the waves of the Ocean.
The shops, most of the restaurants, and the settlement are a 15-20
minute walk. We are at the end of a dead-end road, easily accessed by
golf cart. It can be reached from the main road by a two minutes walk
through a wooded path. Three minutes more takes you to the five mile
white sand beach with its’ wonderful snorkeling reefs within easy
swimming distance. The Sea of Abaco and our shared dock lies just two
minutes South of the house. The grounds boast over 50 young citrus,
exotic fruit and indigenous trees. Feel free to pick the bananas,
papayas, or whatever may be available in the garden.
