What a great way to enjoy all of the wonders of Lake Vermilion ! The
ultimate choice for your vacation, Eagle's Nest Cabin offers the
perfect combination of privacy, nature and lakeside living, with all
the modern conveniences of your own home.
Built in October 2003 and newly available for rental in 2004, the
cabin is situated on the east end of Black Bay on Lake Vermilion,
Minnesota., and is surrounded by state forest or undeveloped
property. It sits 50 feet above the lake level, offering spectacular
views of the lake and the surrounding forest.
This road-accessible site sits on 3.1 acres of land and features 285
feet of private shoreline for your enjoyment.
THE CABIN
Enjoy the simplicity of nature in all its beauty from this
comfortable lodge. This cabin was designed to be spacious, taking
advantage of views from all sides, while having all of the luxuries
of a fine home.
The interior features wood floors throughout, with tile in the
entrance way and bathrooms. The open-plan living room, dining room
and kitchen feature a vaulted pine ceiling with cedar beams, with
great views out all the windows. The cabin has six panel pine doors,
maple cabinets and cedar trim throughout. It also features in-floor
heat in all of the rooms on the first floor, standard ceiling fans
with remotes in every room and a wood-burning fireplace in the
living room.

THE DECK
The cabin features a 1,300 square foot wrap around deck. The
entrance side of the cabin has an 8 foot wide deck providing
stairway access to the cabin. The front of the cabin features a
multilevel deck. The second, lower level, is designed so that the
rail does not obstruct the views from the house or the upper level
of the deck.
The far side of the house features a 12 foot wide screen porch. With
a notty pine ceiling and resessed lights it is a great place to
socialize on a warm night. The deck houses a 774 sq inch Kenmore gas
grill for all your barbeque needs. There are also four Adirondack
chairs, two side tables, two umbrella's, and a two person glider.
There is plenty of room for you to relax, enjoy the view, and enjoy
the sun!
THE HOT TUB
The outdoor hot tub is located on the enterance side of the house.
It can be accessed from the main part of the deck. It has
spectacular views of the lake from both inside the hot tub and on
the hot tub deck area.
The hot tub area features a split leavel deck with half of the tub
being at deck level and the other half being at the level of the
base of the tub. An overhead is provided for shading from the sun.
Additional seats are provided around the tub.
This 395 gallon hot tub is 80" x 86" and can seat 6-8 adults and
features 28 Therapy jets:

THE DOCK
The dock is designed in the shape of a "W". Each finger of the "W"
is 24 feet long. It can accommodate two boats in-between the dock
sections and two boats on the outside.
The there is a covering over the top of the first two dock sections.
However, the ends and the last section of dock remain open for easy
boat launching and fishing.
THE PROPERTY
The property is located in a nicely forested area with a mix of ash,
birch and pines. The house site is elevated above the rest of the
property, providing excellent views and is still only 100 feet from
the water. The road also provides access to the south side of the
property, all the way down to the lake, where the private boat dock
is located.
Almost all of the south side of the bay (139 acres) is state of
Minnesota forest land. These lands are undeveloped but host some
nice hiking trails. The north side of the bay is privately owned and
is undeveloped. There are a total of only five more homes on the
entire upper part of the bay, with your nearest neighbor being 1
mile away!
Road access is provided from a two-mile private road (Wilderness Way
Road), off of County Highway 24 to the cabin site. For more

At Eagle's Nest Cabin on Lake Vermilion you are placed right in the
middle of all of natures beauty. You can simply sit in the living
room and look out the windows or take a walk in the forest.

NATURE

room and look out the windows or take a walk in the forest.
The Superior National Forest hosts the greatest diversity of
breeding birds of any National Forest. You can see bald eagles,
loons, osprey, white pelicans, and great blue herons to name just a
few. You have plenty of opportunity to see wolves, deer, moose,
bear, otters, beavers, mink, fisher and many other wildlife species.
Or enjoy the diversity of plants throughout the forest
FISHING
Lake Vermilion is a fisherman's paradise. It features a growing
population of walleye, bass, northerns, and pan fish. A trophy fish
is just a cast away.
You can simply fish from the dock or shorline or take a boat to hit
the many hotsopts on the lake.
Lake Vermilion has a large range of fishing guides that can assist
you in finding the best lure, the best locations, and make your
fishing experience even more enjoyable.
BOATING
Lake Vermilion is a great lake to take a sail on or enjoy a power
boat ride. With 1,200 miles of shoreline, countless bays and
islands, and 35 mile distance from end to end you can spend entire
days just cruising the lake and enjoying the sights.
Of course there is plenty of room for water skiing, tubing, jet
skiing, canoeing.
There are several good public access boat ramps on the lake as well
as a host of Marina's for fueling, service, and repair. We suggest
that you place your boat in the water at one of the public access
sites and then bring it to our dock.
HIKING
Taking a hike is a wonderful way to get out and see nature and to
get some exercise. Staying at Eagle's Nest cabin you are at the
gateway to one of the nicest water access only hiking trails.
The Black Bay Peninsula Hiking Trail offers six miles of scenic,
well-maintained trails. Simply take a short boat ride to the state
forest pier located 1/2 mile down on the south side of the bay and
you are there.
Alternatively take a walk on our forest road and explore the area.
SNOWMOBILING
T he most scenic and best-groomed snowmobile trails in the Midwest
await snowmobilers on Minnesota's Iron Trail. We offer more than
2,000 miles of excellent, groomed and well-signed Minnesota
snowmobile trails. The well-marked trail system winds across a
variety of terrain and breathtaking northern Minnesota scenery. Our
500 lakes and rivers provide great northern Minnesota snowmobile
riding opportunities. On any given day, there are more than thirteen
groomers operating on northeastern Minnesota snowmobiling trails
with at least six of them concentrating on the Iron Trail region.
Access the trail that cuts acrooss Lake Vermilion right from the
cabin and gain access to the entire MN snowmobile trail system
