Nestled amoung the trees, this hide-away is just 5 minutes from
downtown Smithville, 20 minutes from Bastrop and less than an hour
from Austin. But you'll think you've traveld hundreds of miles to
find this serene setting.
Relaxing on the upstairs deck you'll enjoy the sites of the bountiful
species of birds, including the grand Bald Eagle; the colors of
beautiful butterflies, fireflies lighting up the night, and the
sounds of nature.
If you're more in the mood for a little exercise, you can take a
short hike to the creek and dip your toes in the spring-fed waters.
You may decide to take your lawn chair with you and sink your feet in
the creek while gazing at the trees that canopy above you.
Sitting by the Colorado River, a fish may find it’s way to your
resting place or a bird might land to drink from the cool water.
Just remember you’re in their territory! You will be completely
surrounded by nature at it’s best.
If you enjoy canoeing or kayaking, you can enjoy a paddle
downstream. Along the river, you will find natural vegetation that
includes willow, cottonwood and mesquite trees. Call for information
on local kayaking/canoeing companies that are available to help you
plan your trip!
When you're ready to venture out,you have but a short trip to
historic Main Street Smithville where the antique stores and
restaurants are fun to enjoy. Check out the sites of the filming of
the movie, "Hope Floats". Smithville, a certified "film friendly
town", is often the site of film shoots...maybe you will catch one
during your visit! Or perhaps you'll want to catch a movie in
Bastrop. But be forwarned...once you've arrived, at the Treehouse,
you may never want to leave!
The Treehouse is equipped with everything you'll need to make your
trip enjoyable and relaxing. All your linens are provided, all
cooking utensils, appliances, bar-b-que grill, picnic tables, Cable
TV,stereo, DVD/VCR players and sleeping accommodations for as many as

Well behaved canine guests are always welcome, they love to romp in
the leaves and creek. We even have an outdoor shower with hot and
cold running water to clean the canine guests (and their owners) when
they get a little dirty!
Looking for a romantic get-away for you and a special someone, the
stone fireplace in the main room will provide that added touch for a
very enchanting evening. You'll be sharing your space with only
those you choose, as the Treehouse is a single-family unit.
We can help you set up the Treehouse for that special occassion, such
a champagne and flowers!
Additional space beneath The Treehouse will add to the hospitality of
the cabin. The covered slab allows for outdoor entertainment and a
great place for kids to play and adults to gather and cook on the
grill.
Bring your bikes as you may want to venture out on the country road
and take a closer look at the beautiful countryside.
